Derek Carr threw two touchdown passes, Taysom Hill ran for two touchdowns and Alvin Kamara had a touchdown run and a touchdown catch as the visiting New Orleans Saints held off the Indianapolis Colts 38-27 on Sunday afternoon.

Carr passed for 310 yards, while Hill accounted for 121 yards. Kamara had 59 rushing yards and 51 receiving yards, and Rashid Shaheed had 153 receiving yards and a touchdown as the Saints (4-4) had their largest point total in 20 games.

Gardner Minshew passed for 213 yards and two touchdowns for the Colts (3-5), who lost their third straight.

Kamara's 16-yard touchdown run extended the Saints' one-point halftime lead to 28-20 at the end of the third quarter.

Hill's 44-yard completion to Shaheed led to Hill's 1-yard touchdown run and a 35-20 lead early in the fourth quarter.

Minshew threw a 33-yard touchdown pass to Drew Ogletree to trim the lead to 35-27 with 8:19 remaining, but Blake Grupe kicked a 27-yard field goal for New Orleans with 24 seconds left.

The Colts took a 7-0 lead when Minshew threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Michael Pittman on fourth-and-1 for a 7-0 lead in the first quarter.

New Orleans responded with a 75-yard drive that ended with Carr's 18-yard touchdown pass to Kamara, tying the score at the end of the quarter.

On the second play of the second quarter, Matt Gay kicked a 20-yard field goal that gave Indianapolis a 10-7 lead.

On the third play after the ensuing kickoff, Carr fumbled while being sacked by DeForest Buckner and Dayo Odeyingbo recovered for the Colts at the Saints 30. Six plays later, Zack Moss ran 1 yard for a touchdown and a 17-7 lead.

The ensuing possession ended with Hill's 20-yard touchdown run that trimmed the lead to 17-14.

Carr connected with Shaheed for a 58-yard touchdown pass that gave New Orleans a lead it would never relinquish before Gay's 42-yard field goal left the Saints with a 21-20 halftime edge.
