Jameis Winston threw for 385 yards and four touchdowns Sunday as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers pulled off the biggest upset of Week 4, setting a franchise record for most points in a game as they outgunned the host Los Angeles Rams 55-40.
Winston completed 28 of 41 passes, with the only blemish a 32-yard pick-six by Marcus Peters that drew Los Angeles (3-1) within 45-40 with 8:11 left in the game.
But Tampa Bay (2-2) closed out the biggest win of the brief Bruce Arians era in style. After Matt Gay's 21-yard field goal with 2:35 remaining restored an eight-point lead, Ndamukong Suh picked up a Jared Goff fumble and rumbled 37 yards for the clinching touchdown with 1:06 left.
Goff set a career high with 517 yards passing, hitting on 45 of 68 attempts, but mixed in three interceptions to go along with two touchdowns. It's the most passing yardage the Buccaneers have allowed in a game.
Tampa Bay wide receiver Chris Godwin lit up the Rams' secondary for 172 yards and two touchdowns on 12 receptions. Robert Woods caught 13 passes for 164 yards for Los Angeles.
Tampa Bay controlled most of the first half, putting an immediate stamp on the game with a 60-yard touchdown drive at the outset. Peyton Barber barreled in from the 3 for a 7-0 Buccaneers lead with just 4:07 elapsed off the clock.
The Winston-Godwin connection made it 21-0 before the halfway point of the second quarter. They teamed up for 3- and 9-yard touchdown passes 89 seconds apart, thanks in part to a Lavonte David interception of Goff.
Los Angeles found some footing shortly thereafter, closing within 21-14 with a pair of scores in less than three minutes. Todd Gurley zipped 13 yards for the first touchdown, and Goff hit Gerald Everett for a 5-yard scoring strike.
Tampa Bay responded with a 75-yard drive that took just over two minutes, with Ronald Jones scoring on a 5-yard run to make it 28-14.
But Greg Zuerlein gave the Rams some momentum going into halftime by bombing a 58-yard field goal with two seconds left.
