Saints 28, Panthers 10: Drew Brees rushed for one score and passed for another and Mark Ingram had a pair of short touchdown runs as the Saints won for the first time in their last eight regular-season games on the road.

Brees completed 24-of-34 passes for 297 yards as New Orleans (4-4) took over first place in the NFC South with its second straight win. Showing no effects of a shoulder injury, Jimmy Graham caught seven passes for 83 yards and a touchdown and Ingram finished with 100 yards on 30 carries.

An erratic Cam Newton, under constant pressure by the Saints' defense, connected on just 10-of-28 attempts for 151 yards. Newton rushed for 43 yards as the Panthers (3-5-1) lost for the third straight time while amassing only 231 yards of offense.

The Saints capitalized on Newton's second turnover of the night - a fumble following a sack - and took a 7-0 lead on a 3-yard touchdown run by Ingram with 2:38 left in the first half. New Orleans extended the lead to 14-0 as Brees capped an 85-yard drive in under two minutes with a 1-yard pass to Graham with just three seconds left before the break.

Newton scrambled from 10 yards out and dove for the pylon to cut the deficit to 10-7 early in the third quarter for the Panthers' first touchdown in seven quarters. Brees then dove over the pile from a yard out on fourth down to extend the lead to 21-7 on the Saints' next possession before Ingram put the game out of reach with a 3-yard scoring run, capping a 13-play drive that ate up half the fourth quarter.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Newton has thrown an interception in five straight games, the longest such streak of his career. ...The team that has scored first has won every Thursday night game this season. ...Saint's running backs Khiry Robinson and Pierre Thomas both missed the game with injuries. Ingram hurt his shoulder in the first half but remained in the game.
