Detroit's defense shut down Adrian Peterson and rookie Joe Webb, and Shaun Hill passed for 258 yards as the Lions ended the season with four straight victories after a 20-13 home victory over the visiting Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

Peterson was held to 31 yards on 14 carries and Webb, playing for an inactive Brett Favre, threw for just 141 yards and an interception as the Lions (6-10) posted their first four-game winning streak since 1999.

While the defense limited Minnesota (5-11) to 207 yards, Hill completed 28 of 39. With leading receiver Calvin Johnson sitting most of the game because of an ankle injury, Hill found Nate Burleson six times for 83 yards, including a 7-yard TD in the second period that provided a 10-lead.

After taking a 13-0 lead five minutes into the second half, Minnesota defensive end Jared Allen picked off a pass and rumbled 36 yards for a TD and Ryan Longwell added a 27-yard field goal early in the fourth. But Hill drove the Lions 77 yards on eight plays, capped by a 5-yard run by Maurice Morris, to rebuild a 20-10 lead with 9 ½ minutes to play.

Minnesota got a 48-yard field goal from Longwell with two minutes left, but the Lions ran out the clock.
