Trail Blazers 89, 76ers 85: Nicolas Batum had 22 points and eight assists while Damian Lillard made four 3-pointers en route to 20 points as Portland handed Philadelphia its eighth loss in nine road games.

J.J. Hickson contributed 16 points and 13 rebounds while LaMarcus Aldridge also scored 16 points for the Trail Blazers, who have won seven of nine.

Jrue Holiday recorded a game-high 29 points, nine boards and nine assists for the 76ers, who have dropped eight of 10 overall.

Lillard hit a 3-pointer with 6:45 remaining in the first quarter to cap an 11-0 run and give Portland a 13-7 advantage. The Trail Blazers ended the period with a seven-point lead and were ahead by five at halftime before Holiday scored 13 of Philadelphia's 23 points in the third to cut the deficit to 70-67.

Portland began the fourth with a 10-2 spurt that was capped with the second 3-pointer of the burst by Lillard with 7:38 to play. The 76ers scored the next seven points to get within four with 5:47 left, but Spencer Hawes missed a potential game-tying 3-pointer with 26.9 seconds to go after Thaddeus Young had scored five straight points to draw Philadelphia within 86-83.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Hickson's double-double was his 10th in 11 contests. He had his nine-game streak snapped Friday against the Lakers in Los Angeles. ... Philadelphia swingman Jason Richardson returned to the lineup and recorded five points and three rebounds in 22 minutes. Richardson had missed the previous two games with a strained lower back. ... Lillard and Batum combined for seven of Portland's eight 3-pointers.
