Nashville at Washington 12:30 PM ET
The Washington Capitals and Nashville Predators are singing vastly different tunes heading into Monday's matinee at Capital One Arena. Washington has won four in a row and 16 of its last 19 to vault into first place in the Metropolitan Division while Nashville has dropped six straight overall (0-5-1) and 10 consecutive contests on road (0-8-2).
Vancouver at New Jersey 1:00 PM ET
The Vancouver Canucks continued their impressive play away from home as they moved to 5-0-1 in their last six road games with Saturday's 3-2 overtime victory in Calgary. Vancouver looks to make it three straight wins to begin its six-game road trip when it visits the New Jersey Devils on Monday afternoon.
Pittsburgh at Minnesota 6:00 PM ET
The Pittsburgh Penguins bid to extend their season-high winning streak to six games by completing a sweep of the Minnesota Wild on Monday. The Penguins have regained their footing after sliding into the Eastern Conference basement, following a tumultuous 1-7-2 stretch by recording at least one point in 16 of their last 20 games (13-4-3).
NY Islanders at Buffalo 6:00 PM ET
The New York Islanders vie for their fourth straight win overall and sixth in seven road games when they visit the Buffalo Sabres on Monday. New York posted an impressive 4-0 victory in Toronto on Saturday as Robin Lehner made 36 saves while reigning Calder Trophy winner Mathew Barzal registered a natural hat trick in the second period.
Philadelphia at Carolina 6:00 PM ET
The Carolina Hurricanes haven't been shy about taking shots on goal, but the lack of results are starting to wear on coach Rod Brind'Amour and his charges. Shut out twice in their last four contests, the Hurricanes vie to locate their missing offense when they host the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday.
NY Rangers at St. Louis 7:00 PM ET
The St. Louis Blues continue a four-game stretch against Metropolitan Division teams when they play their third contest of a five-game homestand Monday against the New York Rangers. St. Louis, which has the second-fewest points in the Western Conference (34) and tied for third-worst in the NHL, is coming off a 6-1 loss to Pittsburgh on Saturday after a promising 5-2-0 stretch.
Ottawa at Columbus 7:00 PM ET
The Ottawa Senators came up short on their comeback attempt last time out but hope to avoid ending the calendar year with a five-game losing streak when they visit the Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday. Ottawa, which was blanked 4-0 by visiting Washington exactly one week earlier, allowed the first three goals versus the Capitals at home on Saturday but scored twice before dropping a 3-2 decision.
Florida at Detroit 7:30 PM ET
Jonathan Huberdeau attempts to record another multi-point performance and help the Florida Panthers to a fourth win in five games when they visit the Detroit Red Wings on Monday. Huberdeau, who leads Florida with 44 points, has notched at least two in 13 of his last 19 contests.
Los Angeles at Colorado 8:00 PM ET
The Los Angeles Kings will try to rebound from having their season-high four-game winning streak snapped when they visit the reeling Colorado Avalanche on Monday. Los Angeles, which has the fewest points in the league (33), lost 4-1 at Vegas on Saturday while Colorado fell at home to Chicago 3-2 in overtime for its fourth straight loss - all against the Western Conference - and are 1-4-3 in its last eight such contests.
Tampa Bay at Anaheim 8:00 PM ET
The Tampa Bay Lightning have allowed 24 goals in the last six games but continue to find ways to win as they open a three-game California trip against the struggling Anaheim Ducks on Monday. The NHL-best Lightning gave up five goals in the first two periods Saturday, but locked it down in the final 20 minutes and got two tallies from Adam Erne off strong battles down low to beat Montreal 6-5 - extending their point streak to 14 games (13-0-1).
Montreal at Dallas 8:30 PM ET
The Dallas Stars will try to match a season high with their third straight victory when they host the Montreal Canadiens on Monday with club CEO Jim Lites' critical comments about the team's two best players still ringing in their ears. Dallas routed Detroit 5-1 on Saturday in its first game since Lites went George Steinbrenner on Tyler Seguin and captain Jamie Benn, telling The Athletic "They have been (expletive) horse(expletive). I don't know how else to put it."
San Jose at Calgary 9:00 PM ET
The top spot in the Pacific Division will be on the line when the San Jose Sharks continue their road trip Monday against the Calgary Flames. The Sharks have gone 9-2-2 in their last 13 overall games and have won four straight away from home as they've pulled within one point of the Flames for the division lead.
Winnipeg at Edmonton 9:00 PM ET
The Winnipeg Jets have hit a stumbling block on offense, and now their defense has sustained a big loss entering Monday’s visit to the Edmonton Oilers. The Jets announced Sunday they will be without defenseman Dustin Byfuglien for at least a month after he suffered a left ankle injury in Saturday’s home defeat to Minnesota, a game in which the high-powered Winnipeg offense mustered only one goal for the fourth time in the past five games.
