The Florida Panthers have not been able to take advantage of a monster nine-game homestand and need to win the final two in order to finish on the positive side, starting with a visit from the improving Ottawa Senators on Monday night. The Panthers have lost three straight, dropping to 3-4-0 during their run of games at the BB&T Center, after giving up the first three goals and suffering a 4-2 loss to Boston on Saturday.
Nashville at NY Rangers 7:00 PM ET
The New York Rangers have failed to gain any consistent momentum since recording a three-game winning streak prior to American Thanksgiving, alternating losses and victories over their last nine contests (4-3-2). The Rangers aim to get back on track Monday when they open a three-game homestand against the Nashville Predators.
Washington at Columbus 7:00 PM ET
The NHL-best Washington Capitals will try to avenge their only regulation loss in the last 10 games when they visit the struggling Columbus Blue Jackets for a Metropolitan Division battle Monday night. The Capitals are 8-1-1 in the last 10 contests after a strong third period led to a 5-2 victory over Tampa Bay on Saturday, but have lost four of the past five to Columbus following a 5-2 setback last Monday at home.
Colorado at St. Louis 8:00 PM ET
A nine-game point streak (8-0-1) has the Colorado Avalanche nipping at the heels of the St. Louis Blues atop the Central Division. The Avalanche can leapfrog the first-place Blues and avenge an early-season setback to their division rivals on Monday when they meet in St. Louis.
Edmonton at Dallas 8:30 PM ET
The Edmonton Oilers followed up becoming the last team in the NHL to lose three in a row by extending their winless streak to a season-high four games (0-3-1). The skidding Oilers aim to reverse their fortunes on Monday when they open a two-game road trip against the Dallas Stars.
