Preview Roundups
October 18, 2019
Colorado at Florida 7:00 PM ET
The Colorado Avalanche were the last team in the NHL to lose a game, although it took overtime to finally dent their perfect record. One-third of the way through a rugged six-game road trip that includes visits to Tampa Bay and St. Louis, the Avalanche look to extend their points streak to seven contests when they visit the Florida Panthers on Friday night.
Dallas at Pittsburgh 7:00 PM ET
The Pittsburgh Penguins have bolted out of the blocks with four straight wins while the Dallas Stars have limped out of the gate with four consecutive losses and seven in their first eight games overall. The Penguins aim to continue their winning ways at the expense of the slumping Stars on Friday when the clubs meet at PPG Paints Arena.
NY Rangers at Washington 7:00 PM ET
The Washington Capitals are still working on starting games better, but look to post back-to-back wins at home for the first time this season Friday night when the rival New York Rangers pay a visit. The Capitals gave up four goals in the first 10 minutes of a 6-3 loss to Colorado on Monday and surrendered the first two against Toronto on Wednesday before rallying for a 4-3 triumph.
Columbus at Chicago 8:30 PM ET
The Columbus Blue Jackets will begin their third stretch of back-to-back games already on the young season when they visit the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday. The Blue Jackets, who will host the New York Islanders on Saturday, evened their record after six contests following consecutive 3-2 wins in their last two games.
Detroit at Edmonton 9:00 PM ET
Connor McDavid appears to be on a quest for his third Art Ross Trophy in four seasons. The 22-year-old captain attempts to build off his third career five-point performance when the Edmonton Oilers host the Detroit Red Wings on Friday.
Carolina at Anaheim 10:00 PM ET
While the Carolina Hurricanes are among the most impressive teams in the early going, the Anaheim Ducks rank among the biggest surprises. Coming off a season in which their six-year postseason run was halted, the Ducks have won their first three at home for the first time in five years and look to stay perfect at Honda Center versus visiting Carolina on Friday night.
