Preview Roundups
February 02, 2019
Edmonton at Philadelphia 1:00 PM ET
Carter Hart and the Philadelphia Flyers hope the success they both enjoyed in January carries over into February. Fresh off being named the NHL's Rookie of the Month for January, Hart looks to send the red-hot Flyers to their season-best seventh straight win on Saturday afternoon when they host captain Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers.
New Jersey at Montreal 2:00 PM ET
Well-rested and holding down one of the wild cards in the Eastern Conference, the Montreal Canadiens will look to carry over the momentum from before the All-Star break when they return to the ice to host the New Jersey Devils on Saturday afternoon. The Canadiens, who have been idle since Jan. 23, won five of six entering the break and yielded two goals or fewer in all five wins.
Anaheim at Winnipeg 7:00 PM ET

The Winnipeg Jets certainly cannot keep chasing games in the third period, but it has made for back-to-back thrilling comebacks for the Central Division leaders entering Saturday’s home contest against the struggling Anaheim Ducks. The Jets rallied in the final period before outlasting Boston in a shootout Tuesday, then scored twice in the final 12 minutes against Columbus on home ice Thursday to earn a 4-3 triumph on Kyle Connor’s game-winning marker with 1:14 to play.

Pittsburgh at Toronto 7:00 PM ET
The Pittsburgh Penguins were not about to wait for the trade deadline to ramp up their roster for the stretch run, swinging a deal with the Florida Panthers on Friday to acquire forwards Nick Bjugstad and Jared McCann. The duo made it into the lineup with minutes to spare Friday and will play their first road game for the Penguins at the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday night.
Detroit at Ottawa 7:00 PM ET
The Ottawa Senators began their post All-Star break schedule with a thud, falling for the third straight time to remain in the basement of the NHL with just 43 points. The Senators look to put a halt to their current troubles and defeat the Detroit Red Wings for the third time in 2018-19 on Saturday when the Atlantic Division rivals meet in Canada's capital city.
Vegas at Florida 7:00 PM ET
The Vegas Golden Knights hope to pull themselves out of a slump when they continue their four-game road trip Saturday against the Florida Panthers. The Golden Knights won seven straight games after Christmas to threaten for first place in the Pacific Division but have dropped five of seven since after Friday's 5-2 loss at Carolina and scored just eight times in those five setbacks.
Los Angeles at NY Islanders 7:00 PM ET
A nine-day layoff did not disrupt the New York Islanders' point streak, but it did have an effect on the team's offense. New York looks to earn at least one point in an eighth straight game when it hosts the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday.
St. Louis at Columbus 7:00 PM ET
The Columbus Blue Jackets are mired in their longest losing streak of the season, a slide they will look to end when they host the St. Louis Blues on Saturday night. The Blue Jackets have dropped four in a row, including three straight one-goal decisions, after returning from the All-Star break with a 5-4 home loss to Buffalo and a 4-3 setback at Winnipeg on Thursday night.
Tampa Bay at NY Rangers 8:00 PM ET
The New York Rangers are playing like a team intent on getting back into the playoff race as they go for a fifth win in six games Saturday, when they host the league-leading Tampa Bay Lightning. The Rangers have registered a total of 17 goals in the four triumphs during their revival after Thursday’s 4-3 victory over New Jersey and outshot Philadelphia 38-19 in the only loss.
Dallas at Nashville 8:00 PM ET
The Nashville Predators didn't let their combined NHLPA-mandated bye/All-Star break bother them and will try for their fourth straight victory when they host the Dallas Stars on Saturday in the first of three meetings between the Central Division rivals in 19 days. Nashville rolled to a 4-1 win at Florida on Friday, pulling within two points of first-place Winnipeg, while Dallas also is riding a three-game winning streak after Friday's 3-1 triumph over Minnesota.
Chicago at Minnesota 8:00 PM ET
Patrick Kane appears determined to help the Chicago Blackhawks avoid a second consecutive season without a playoff appearance. The former Hart Trophy winner looks to extend his point streak to 11 games Saturday as Chicago seeks its fourth straight victory when it visits the Minnesota Wild.
Vancouver at Colorado 10:00 PM ET
The wheels could be turning a bit slower than usual when the Colorado Avalanche host the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday in a matchup of teams that haven't played since Jan. 23 because of a combined NHLPA-mandated/All-Star break. Colorado's Nathan MacKinnon, who avoided a one-game suspension by participating in All-Star Game festivities but did not compete because of a foot injury, is expected to play.
Arizona at San Jose 10:30 PM ET
The San Jose Sharks fiercely have defended their home ice this season, boasting just eight losses (17-4-4) in 25 contests at SAP Center to share top honors in the Western Conference in that department. The Sharks look to avenge a rare home loss to the Arizona Coyotes and even the season series at two wins apiece when the Pacific Division rivals return from the All-Star break on Saturday.
