Carolina improved to 3-2-0 on its season-high seven-game homestand with a 5-4 victory over Philadelphia on Tuesday that was labeled "sloppy" by coach Rod Brind'Amour, who added: "Not that we were bad tonight, but we need to be better for sure."

The Pittsburgh Penguins have overcome myriad injuries to post a scintillating 12-3-1 record over their last 16 games. The surging Penguins look to march to their fourth straight road victory on Friday when they play the second contest of a three-game trek against the Colorado Avalanche in Denver.
