Both Miami (Fla.) and Florida Atlantic will be playing for the first time in 10 days when they meet Friday, but both will have positive memories of their most recent games from which to draw. The Hurricanes got only the second triple-double in program history from freshman guard Bruce Brown in a 82-46 destruction of South Carolina State, while the Owls produced one of the biggest, if not the biggest, wins in program history - a stunning 79-77 overtime victory at Ohio State.
Cal St. East Bay at Stanford 9:00 PM ET
After nearly two weeks off for final exams, Stanford returns to action Friday against visiting Division II Cal State East Bay. The Cardinal won six of their first seven games before falling to a pair of ranked opponents in Saint Mary’s and Kansas, and now have three games left to get ready for their Pac-12 opener against Arizona State on Dec. 30.
Long Beach St. at Oregon St. 11:00 PM ET
The post-Gary Payton II era is off to a rough start at Oregon State, which has lost seven straight games against Division I opponents heading into Friday’s contest against Long Beach State at the Moda Center in Portland, Ore. The Beavers hit a new low with last Sunday’s 93-90 overtime loss to visiting Savannah State, which was picked to finish 11th in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
