Texas Southern at Florida 7:00 PM ET
Florida gained confidence with a red-hot shooting performance in its last game and looks to build on that when Texas Southern visits Friday. The Gators made 63.8 percent of their shots overall and 10-of-19 from 3-point range in a rout of Yale on Monday after losses to North Carolina and Kansas. “We’re getting better,” Florida guard Michael Frazier II told reporters. “We've still got a long way to go so we can’t be satisfied, but I think we’re moving in the right direction.”
Charleston Southern at N.C. State 7:00 PM ET
North Carolina State is off to a 7-1 start, and much of the credit belongs to its three-man backcourt. Trevor Lacey, Ralston Turner and Anthony “Cat” Barber have started all eight games and are averaging a combined 41.6 points, 12.9 rebounds and 8.5 assists as the team’s top three scorers. They’ll certainly be a handful for visiting Charleston Southern of the Big South Conference on Friday night.
Iowa St. at Iowa 8:06 PM ET
Two of the top forwards in the nation square off Friday when Iowa hosts No. 13 Iowa State in a nonconference clash. Georges Niang, a 6-8, 230-pound junior, is averaging 18 points for the Cyclones, adding 6.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists while shooting 50.6 percent from the floor and 92.1 percent from the free throw line. The Hawkeyes' Aaron White, 6-9, 220-pound senior, comes in averaging 15.6 points and 7.1 rebounds while shooting 55.6 percent from the floor and 87.7 percent from the line.
