Preview Roundups
November 25, 2015
Gonzaga at Washington 12:00 PM ET
Washington and Gonzaga chose to end their bitter feud with one another last summer by agreeing to a four-year, home-and-home series starting next season. In a bit of an irony, the Huskies and 11th ranked Bulldogs will get a bit of a head start on the next chapter of the in-state rivalry outside the continental United States on Wednesday when they meet in a first-round game in the Battle 4 Atlantis at Paradise Island, Bahamas.
Charlotte at Syracuse 2:30 PM ET
Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim hinted recently that he doesn’t have much trust in his bench, yet his team is undefeated; Charlotte coach Mark Price is getting contributions from a number of players, but his team only has one win to show for it. Boeheim and Price attempt to get their teams going after uninspiring starts on Wednesday when the Orange and 49ers meet in a first-round game in the Battle 4 Atlantis at Paradise Island, Bahamas.
St. John's at Chaminade 2:30 PM ET
St. John's center Yankuba Sima has faced two difficult matchups through the first two games of the Maui Invitational, but the 6-foot-11 freshman from Spain should have an easier time against guard-heavy Chaminade in Wednesday's seventh-place game. In the tournament opener Monday, Sima was matched against 7-footer Damian Jones of Vanderbilt, an all-SEC first-team selection last season, then went up against talented 6-10 freshman Thomas Bryant of No. 14 Indiana in another loss Tuesday.
Vermont at Florida 3:00 PM ET
Host Florida and Vermont come into Wednesday's game coming off similar experiences, having suffered losses in separate brackets of the Hall of Fame Tipoff at Uncasville, Conn. The Gators lost to No. 15 Purdue 85-70 in the Naismith Bracket while the Catamounts fell to Buffalo 77-71 in the Springfield Bracket.
Georgia St at Mississippi 5:00 PM ET

Ole Miss is looking for consistency when its hosts Georgia State on Wednesday after an up-and-down week. The Rebels went 1-2 at the Charleston Classic behind big performances to beat Towson on Friday and a sloppy loss to Seton Hall on Sunday.

High Point at Georgia 5:00 PM ET

Georgia wraps up a three-game season-opening homestand against solid mid-major foes when the Bulldogs host High Point on Wednesday. They should face a strong challenge from a Panthers team that is off to a 3-1 start after returning 76 percent of its scoring and rebounding from last year’s Big South regular-season champion team.

UNLV at Indiana 5:00 PM ET
A potential dazzling matchup between two of the nation's top freshmen centers could be in jeopardy when No. 14 Indiana faces UNLV in the fifth-place game Wednesday at the Maui Invitational. Stephen Zimmerman Jr., the highly touted 7-footer for UNLV, did not play in Tuesday's win against Chaminade because of flu-like symptoms, and his absence against Indiana would create a huge advantage for 6-10 Thomas Bryant, who toasted St. John's for 19 points in an 83-73 win Tuesday.
Illinois St. at Texas Christian 6:00 PM ET
TCU looks to salvage the consolation game of the Cancun Challenge when the Horned Frogs meet Illinois State onWednesday at Riviera Maya, Mexico. The Horned Frogs dropped their semifinal contest against Rhode Island on Tuesday.
Yale at Duke 7:00 PM ET
It may surprise some that the first matchup since 1973-74 between two of the country's highest-acclaimed academic institutions might translate into a pretty good basketball game between visiting Yale and Duke. Both teams were in action Sunday, when No. 3 Duke topped Georgetown to win the 2K Classic title and Yale lost by two to SMU on the road.
Arkansas St. at Oregon 7:00 PM ET
Oregon has jumped out quickly this season, winning its first four games, and the Ducks will try to make it 5-for-5 when they host Arkansas State on Wednesday. The contest is the last of four round-robin games in the Global Sports Shootout for the Ducks, with Oregon looking to complete a perfect run through the tournament.
Texas at Texas A&M 7:00 PM ET
After meeting 222 times from 1917-2012, conference realignment forced Texas and Texas A&M to give up their annual rivalry after the Aggies made a move to the SEC. The teams renew acquaintances following a three-year hiatus on Wednesday when they face each other in a first-round game in the Battle 4 Atlantis at Paradise Island, Bahamas.
Cornell at Pittsburgh 7:00 PM ET
One of the big reasons Pittsburgh didn’t win 20 games last season for the the first time in the 12-year reign of coach Jamie Dixon was the lack of front court depth. The new and improved post depth has been on display in the early going this season, and the Panthers will test Cornell’s inside play when they host the Big Red on Wednesday.
Lehigh at Virginia 7:00 PM ET

Typically known for its stingy defense, No. 12 Virginia looks to continue a run of impressive offensive output when the Cavaliers host winless Lehigh on Wednesday. Virginia has scored 80 or more points in three consecutive games for the first time under defensive-minded coach Tony Bennett, and the Cavaliers have cracked the 80-point plateau in all four of their wins after doing so only twice all of last season.

Wake Forest at UCLA 7:30 PM ET
Narrow first-round victories at the Maui Invitational were followed up by one-sided losses, leaving Wake Forest and UCLA to battle it out Wednesday in the consolation championship at the Lahaina Civic Center. The Demon Deacons posted the upset of the tournament with a victory against No. 14 Indiana in their Maui opener but couldn't repeat that effort in a 22-point loss to No. 16 Vanderbilt, and UCLA held off UNLV before getting run over by No. 7 Kansas.

Prairie View A&M at Wisconsin 8:00 PM ET

After an exhilarating 74-73 victory over VCU on Sunday, Wisconsin's up-and-down start to the season gets a bit of a breather with Prairie View A&M at home on Wednesday. The Badgers could use a break with their next two games being against No. 7 Oklahoma and Syracuse.

Maryland at Rhode Island 8:30 PM ET
No. 3 Maryland may be undefeated but thus far it's been a year of living dangerously. After surviving another battle on Tuesday, the Terps will face Rhode Island on Wednesday for the Cancun Challenge championship at Riviera Maya, Mexico.
Air Force at Colorado 9:00 PM ET

Colorado has reeled off three straight wins since its season-opening loss to now-No. 5 Iowa State, but coach Tad Boyle has been anything but complacent. Angry over the Buffaloes’ defensive play in a closer-than-expected win over visiting Omaha on Sunday, Boyle has been emphasizing that this week leading up to Wednesday’s home date with in-state foe Air Force

Connecticut at Michigan 9:30 PM ET
Following a difficult season in which it missed the NCAA Tournament one year after winning it all, coach Kevin Ollie appears to have a retooled Connecticut team capable of making some noise yet again. After three straight blowout victories, the 21st-ranked Huskies figure to receive a much stiffer test on Wednesday when they face Michigan in a first-round game in the Battle 4 Atlantis at Paradise Island, Bahamas.
Massachusetts at Creighton 9:30 PM ET

As people come to Las Vegas to be entertained, Creighton and Massachusetts each earned top billing with impressive semifinal performances at the Men Who Speak Up tournament. The Bluejays and Minutemen try to complete a successful trip to "Sin City" when they square off Wednesday in the tournament title game.

Vanderbilt at Kansas 10:00 PM ET
Nobody challenged No. 4 Kansas or No. 16 Vanderbilt through the first two days of the Maui Invitational, but that streak figures to end Wednesday when the teams meet in the championship game at the Lahaina Civic Center. The Commodores won their first two games by 37 and 22 points, and Kansas by 51 and 19 as both teams avoided the other ranked team in the eight-team field, No. 14 Indiana.
Clemson at Rutgers 11:59 PM ET

Clemson's defense got punched in the mouth Monday in the semifinals of the Men Who Speak Up tournament in Las Vegas. The Tigers have 48 hours to recover before they face Rutgers in the consolation game of the event on Wednesday.
