Preview Roundups
November 15, 2015
Mount St. Mary's at Ohio St. 12:00 PM ET

Thad Matta is one of the highest paid coaches in the land and this season he'll get the chance to earn every penny beginning Sunday when Ohio State hosts Mount St. Mary's. Matta's task is simple: replace All-America point guard D'Angelo Russell, who left for the NBA and was drafted second overall by the Los Angeles Lakers after averaging 19.3 points and five assists during his lone season in Columbus.

Wake Forest at Bucknell 1:00 PM ET
Offensively, Wake Forest delivered a solid performance in its season debut. Defensively, though, coach Danny Manning would like to see considerable improvement when the Demon Deacons visit Bucknell on Sunday afternoon.
Howard at Rutgers 1:00 PM ET
The 15-game losing streak Rutgers carried over from last season ended with a 72-59 win over Division III Rutgers-Newark on Friday. The Scarlet Knights look to keep their new streak alive when they host Howard on Sunday.
Wagner at Seton Hall 1:30 PM ET
If Isaiah Whitehead can become the complete player and team leader that coach Kevin Willard envisions, Seton Hall might be able to make some noise in the Big East Conference this season. Whitehead and the Pirates look for their second straight win when they host Wagner on Sunday.
Vermont at Purdue 2:00 PM ET
After a dominant season opener, No. 24 Purdue looks to keep its roll going at home Sunday when it hosts Vermont in Hall of Fame Tipoff Classic action. The Boilermakers rolled in their opener despite the absence of all-Big Ten center A.J. Hammons, who was dressed but sat on the bench and didn't play.
Robert Morris at Cincinnati 2:00 PM ET
Coach Mick Cronin’s return to the bench was a successful one as Cincinnati overwhelmed Western Carolina 97-72 in its season opener Friday. His Bearcats will try to make it two in a row at Fifth Third Arena on Sunday when Robert Morris visits.
Texas-San Antonio at Clemson 2:00 PM ET

Clemson is off to strong start, thanks largely to its play on the defensive end of the court. Two days after limiting North Carolina Central to 40 points on 30.4 percent shooting, the Tigers welcome UTSA to Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, S.C.on Sunday.

North Dakota State at Illinois 3:00 PM ET
Illinois, which dropped its season opener for the first time since 1998 on Friday when it lost to visiting North Florida 93-81, will try to bounce back against defending Summit League champion North Dakota State on Sunday afternoon. The game is the second of four the Fighting Illini are playing at the Prairie Capital Convention Center in Springfield, Ill. -- about 85 miles from campus -- while renovations at their normal arena in Champaign, the State Farm Center, are completed.
Nicholls State at Florida St. 3:00 PM ET
Florida State returns all five starters from last season and features a talented group of newcomers entering Sunday’s season opener at home against Nicholls State, and now it is veteran coach Leonard Hamilton’s task to bring together the pieces. “The challenge is how to mesh that and sustain it for long periods of time,” said Hamilton, who begins his 14th season looking to return the Seminoles to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2012.
Louisiana-Monroe at Minnesota 3:00 PM ET
Richard Pitino is determined to not let a roster heavy on underclassmen serve as an excuse for what many perceive to be a rebuilding season for Minnesota. Senior Joey King heeded his coach’s orders in the Golden Gophers’ season-opening victory and will try to do so again on Sunday when his team hosts ULM.
Fairfield at North Carolina 4:00 PM ET
Despite taking the court without its best player, No. 1 North Carolina proved to be a deep, talented team in its season opener. The top-ranked Tar Heels eye a strong encore performance Sunday against visiting Fairfield.
Coppin St. at Iowa 5:00 PM ET
Jarrod Uthoff made it clear that he was capable of helping Iowa win in any number of ways last year and wasted little time proving he is an even more complete player this season. The versatile 6-9 senior forward looks to build off an impressive season debut on Sunday when the host Hawkeyes attempt to remain perfect in four all-time meetings with Coppin State.
South Alabama at N.C. State 6:00 PM ET
North Carolina State looks to regroup after a rough season opener -- in more ways than one -- when it hosts South Alabama on Sunday night. The Wolfpack dropped an 85-68 decision to an experienced William & Mary squad on Friday and talented transfer guard Terry Henderson was lost for 6-8 weeks with an ankle injury after going down early in the contest.
Maryland - E. Shore at Missouri 6:00 PM ET
Missouri has a long way to go before it can approach SEC contender status, but freshman forward Kevin Puryear offers lofty expectations as the Tigers try to make it two straight wins to open the season when they host Maryland Eastern Shore on Sunday. Puryear, a Blue Springs, Mo., native, scored a team-high 20 points while making eight of his 14 field-goal attempts and added five rebounds in Missouri's 83-74 victory over Wofford on Friday, but kept the win in perspective.
Siena at Wisconsin 8:00 PM ET
Wisconsin received a clear indication during its season opener what needs to improve if the Badgers are going to be a national contender again this season, and it wasn’t pretty. No. 17 Wisconsin looks to rebound 48 hours after a shocking home loss and make some progress on the defensive end when it hosts Siena on Sunday night.
Charleston Southern at Stanford 8:00 PM ET
If its season opener is any indication, Stanford might be just fine with senior point guard Christian Sanders replacing injured starter Robert Cartwright. Sanders scored eight of his career-high 23 points in overtime of Friday’s 93-89 win over Green Bay and will look for a repeat performance Sunday against visiting Charleston Southern.
Cal Poly SLO at UCLA 10:00 PM ET
UCLA's season is already off on the wrong foot and the Bruins will try to turn things around in a hurry when they host Cal Poly on Sunday night. UCLA came into Friday's season opener against Monmouth as a 14-point favorite, but then committed 23 turnovers while forcing seven and lost in overtime, 84-81, one of the bigger surprises on the opening day of college basketball.
