Preview Roundups
November 11, 2016
Louisiana Tech at South Carolina 6:30 PM ET

South Carolina made huge strides in its fourth season under Frank Martin, and the Gamecocks hope to take the next step in his fifth campaign, which begins with a visit from Louisiana Tech on Friday. Both teams are eager to see what they can expect from large crops of newcomers after losing numerous key players off last year’s successful teams.

Vanderbilt at Marquette 6:30 PM ET
The post-Henry Ellenson era begins Friday for Marquette when it opens its season against Vanderbilt in the Veterans Classic at Annapolis, Md. Ellenson, who was taken No. 18 by the Detroit Pistons in the NBA draft this summer, wasn't quite the savior everyone expected despite leading the Golden Eagles to their first 20-win season under Steve Wojciechowski.
Lafayette at Villanova 6:30 PM ET
One of the tough tasks for No. 3 Villanova is to put last season in the rearview mirror and focus on a brand new campaign. That isn't easy, of course, after Villanova won the 2016 national championship in spectacular fashion, but the current batch of Wildcats will try to kick off another promising campaign with a home win Friday against Lafayette.
Stephen F. Austin at Kentucky 7:00 PM ET
Twenty-eight Kentucky basketball players have been drafted by NBA teams in coach John Calipari's seven seasons and that number is sure to grow as the No. 4  Wildcats are again bursting at the seams with talent. Kentucky unveils its latest blue-chip recruiting class on a squad which could also boast rare senior leadership in Calipari's one-and-done world when it hosts Stephen F. Austin on Friday, leaving the coach in an enviable position few others enjoy.
Tenn-Martin at Mississippi 7:00 PM ET
With one big-time scorer out of the picture, Ole Miss is turning its offense inside-out by focusing on an outside-in approach heading into its season opener on Friday against visiting Tennessee-Martin. The Rebels will look to their frontcourt for the bulk of their scoring in the early part of the season as they look to rebound from a humdrum 10-8 showing in SEC play last campaign.
Chattanooga at Tennessee 7:00 PM ET
Little went right for the Tennessee men's basketball program last season - and while experts expect more of the same in 2016-17, coach Rick Barnes is much more enthused about his roster as he looks to launch the campaign on a winning note Friday against visiting Chattanooga. Barnes believes he has addressed several of his team's glaring weaknesses as the Volunteers look to put the memory of a dismal SEC showing behind them.
Georgia at Clemson 7:00 PM ET
In conferences littered with some of the top players in the country, Clemson’s Jaron Blossomgame and Georgia’s J.J. Frazier are stars who can take over a game. The two offer a tantalizing opening-night treat Friday when Georgia travels to Clemson, giving Frazier and Blossomgame the opportunity to kick-start their seasons in an intriguing non-conference matchup between two teams which might find themselves playing in the postseason.
Western Carolina at Miami-Florida 7:00 PM ET
With its top two scorers and its defensive leader gone from last season's eighth-ranked team, Miami (Fla.) opens its season Friday at home against Western Carolina with plenty of questions to be answered. The returning roster combined for only 64 starts (36.6 percent of the total) last season, the second-fewest of any team in the ACC, and four of the five reserves expected to see playing time are freshmen, though that quartet represents the top-rated recruiting class in the program's history.
Georgia Southern at N.C. State 7:00 PM ET
North Carolina State missed the NCAA Tournament last season, but a 7-foot player from Turkey should eventually prevent that from happening again as the Wolfpack open their campaign by hosting Georgia Southern on Friday. Omer Yurtseven is expected to make his N.C. State debut Dec. 15 after serving a controversial nine-game suspension when the NCAA ruled the five-star recruit received inappropriate money from the Turkish professional team Fenerbahce.
Colgate at Syracuse 7:00 PM ET
Following a wild run to the Final Four, 17th-ranked Syracuse has a new look throughout most of its lineup as it kicks off its season Friday versus visiting Colgate. The Orange were a No. 10 seed in the Big Dance last March when they won four in a row before falling to North Carolina in the national semifinals.
Eastern Michigan at Pittsburgh 7:00 PM ET
After 13 very successful seasons defined by rugged defense with Jamie Dixon on the bench, Pittsburgh was forced to turn the page this season and find another identity. The Panthers turned to former Vanderbilt coach Kevin Stallings and will debut their new, up-tempo offense Friday when Eastern Michigan visits in the opening round of the 2K Classic Benefiting Wounded Warrior Project.
Brown at Cincinnati 7:00 PM ET
Led by American Athletic Conference preseason co-Player of the Year Troy Caupain, No. 25 Cincinnati is poised for a seventh consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and 20-win season. The Bearcats' quest begins Friday when Ivy League member Brown visits in the season opener for both teams.
Fairleigh Dickinson at Seton Hall 7:00 PM ET
Freshman Myles Powell is already generating a lot of excitement around the Seton Hall basketball team, which opens its season Friday on campus against in-state rival Fairleigh Dickinson. The 6-2 shooting guard from nearby Trenton, N.J., has earned rave reviews for his shooting ability and his work ethic, which has helped him to shed 40 pounds since leaving high school.
American U. at Maryland 7:00 PM ET
Melo Trimble has experienced plenty of success through the first two years of his college career, sparking Maryland to back-to-back 27-win seasons and a trip to last season’s Sweet 16. Trimble, who leads the No. 21-ranked Terrapins into Friday’s season opener at home against American, will be even more critical in 2016-17 as Maryland tips off missing four players who averaged at least 11 points per game a season ago.
Arizona at Michigan St 7:00 PM ET
Two perennial national powers tip off the 2016-17 season in the opening game of the 2016 Armed Forces Classic in Honolulu, Hawaii, as No. 9 Michigan State takes on No. 11 Arizona on Friday. The Spartans are coming off one of the biggest upset losses in NCAA Tournament history last year and have a lot of youth, while the Wildcats are also motivated by a first-round NCAA setback from last season.
Albany at Penn St. 7:00 PM ET
With three of the top four scorers back and his first top-30 recruiting class, sixth-year coach Pat Chambers hopes Penn State can surpass his personal-best of seven Big Ten wins set last season. However, before the Nittany Lions can even think about league play, it begins a stretch of three games in five days and six in 13 when Albany visits Friday.
Molloy at Rutgers 7:00 PM ET
Rutgers managed seven wins last season and went 1-18 in Big Ten play, leading to the firing of head coach Eddie Jordan and the hiring of Steve Pikiell to replace him. Pikiell will try to get within six wins of last season's total when the Scarlet Knights open the 2016-17 campaign against Division II Molloy College on Friday.
Marist at Duke 7:00 PM ET

Duke is the preseason favorite to cut down the nets the first week in April, but the Blue Devils will be far from full strength when they open the season Friday against Marist. A number of key players are expected to miss the opener for Duke, which still shouldn’t have any trouble taking care of the Red Foxes.

Evansville at Louisville 7:00 PM ET
Louisville may have already scored a victory before it breaks the seal on a new season Friday when it hosts Evansville, escaping a NCAA investigation stemming from the allegations made by a former escort last season relatively unscathed. While the NCAA did make four charges against the 14th-ranked Cardinals, it ruled Louisville did not commit any violations in the recruiting sex scandal that ultimately resulted in a self-imposed postseason ban last season.
Virginia at NC-Greensboro 7:00 PM ET
Virginia will try to maintain its position among the nation’s elite teams this season without two key performers that played a huge role in helping the Cavaliers rise to that lofty spot. Seventh-ranked Virginia begins life without Malcolm Brogdon and Anthony Gill, who accounted for 32 points per game in 2015-16, when it travels to take on UNC Greensboro on Friday.
Montana St. at Washington St. 7:00 PM ET
John Hawkinson has established himself as one of the top big men on the West Coast and he looks to start off the current season in style when Washington State hosts Montana State on Friday. Hawkinson, a 6-foot-10 senior, averaged 15.4 points and 11.1 rebounds last season but both he and coach Ernie Kent believe he can perform better.
Wagner at Connecticut 7:00 PM ET
With the length and athleticism of an NBA team, No. 16 Connecticut has great expectations as it tips off the season Friday against visiting Wagner. The Huskies not only return the bulk of last year's 25-win team but have added a couple of big pieces and are already eyeing a deep run in the NCAA Tournament.
Florida A&M at South Florida 7:00 PM ET
South Florida looks to open on the right foot after a tumultuous offseason that saw two regulars dismissed from the team and the top scorer suspended, when they host Florida A&M on Friday. The Bulls will be without sophomore guard Jahmal McMurray, who averaged 15.2 points, for the first six games due to an undisclosed violation of team rules but coach Orlando Antigua is optimistic about his squad.
La Salle at Temple 7:00 PM ET
Temple dives head first into the 2016-17 season on Friday with a home matchup against city rival La Salle. The Owls have made the NCAA Tournament in seven of their 10 seasons under coach Fran Dunphy but face many questions with the season right around the corner.
Lehigh at Xavier 7:00 PM ET
Eighth-ranked Xavier will depend on a talented backcourt trio as its frontcourt group develops when the Musketeers open the season against visiting Lehigh on Friday night. Juniors Trevon Bluiett and J.P. Macura, along with sophomore Edmond Sumner, averaged more than 35 points last season as Xavier won 28 games and the guard corps can improve on their numbers.
Dartmouth at Rhode Island 7:00 PM ET
The Rhode Island Rams have their sights set on snapping a lengthy NCAA Tournament drought and begin that quest Friday at home against Dartmouth. The 24th-ranked Rams, picked to finish second in the Atlantic 10 preseason poll, will ride the tandem of senior forward Hassan Martin and junior guard E.C. Matthews - all-conference second-team selections - in coach Dan Hurley's fifth season at the helm.
McNeese St. at Purdue 7:00 PM ET

Preseason hopes are soaring once again in West Lafayette, Ind., with one of the nation’s best frontcourts leading the way for 15th-ranked Purdue. The Boilermakers tip off the season Friday night with a home game against McNeese State.

Nicholls State at Boston College 7:00 PM ET
Boston College was a very young - and largely unsuccessful - team last season, but the Eagles hope that another year of growth and some key transfers will help the struggling program take a step forward. The new-look squad begins its quest for respectability following a miserable campaign when it takes on visiting Nicholls on Friday in the opener for both teams.
Oral Roberts at Baylor 7:00 PM ET
Baylor will set out to try and earn an NCAA Tournament berth for a school record fourth straight year when it opens its season Friday night against visiting Oral Roberts. The Bears, who have lost their first game in March Madness each of the last two years after advancing to the Sweet 16 in 2014, must replace their top scorer, rebounder and assists man.
Mount St. Mary's at West Virginia 7:00 PM ET
West Virginia begins what perhaps is its most promising season since joining the Big 12 Conference when it hosts Mount St. Mary's on Friday in a battle of Mountaineers. Eighteenth-ranked West Virginia was picked to finish second behind No. 2 Kansas in the preseason poll, and can't wait to begin erasing the memory of being stunned by 14th-seeded Stephen F. Austin in the first round of the 2016 NCAA Tournament.
St. Thomas (TX) at Texas Christian 7:00 PM ET
Jamie Dixon makes his coaching debut for TCU when the rebuilding Horned Frogs open their season at home Friday night against St. Thomas (Texas) of the NAIA. Dixon, who led TCU to its last NCAA Tournament win as a player in 1987, has returned to his alma mater after 13 seasons and 11 tourney bids at Pittsburgh.
Florida Gulf Coast at Florida 7:30 PM ET
With seven of his top eight scorers returning from last season, Mike White begins his second season as Florida's head coach in a neutral-site game against Florida Gulf Coast on Friday with heightened expectations. While the Gators will be seeking their 25th consecutive home-opening win, they will be doing it in Jacksonville, not Gainesville, as they begin an 11-game stretch that includes 10 games around the state before returning to Exactech Arena at the O'Connell Center on Dec. 21.
Radford at Wake Forest 7:30 PM ET
If Wake Forest, which begins its season Friday against visiting Radford, is to be any better in Danny Manning's third season than it was in his first two, it will have to do it without its top scorer and rebounder. Gone is Devin Thomas, who averaged a double-double as a senior, and left in his wake is a slew of sophomores and freshmen looking to end a six-year postseason drought.
Houston Baptist at Texas Tech 7:30 PM ET
Texas Tech returns plenty of experience from last year's squad that went to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2007. A few new faces and a new coach will try to help the Red Raiders repeat that success, starting with Friday night's opener against visiting Houston Baptist.
IUPU - Ft. Wayne at Arkansas 8:00 PM ET
Arkansas, once a perennial NCAA Tournament participant, opens its 2016-17 season Friday against with a home game against defending Summit League co-champion Fort Wayne. The Razorbacks, who are coming off a disappointing 16-16 campaign and have qualified for the NCAA tourney just four times in the last 15 years, arguably scored their biggest win of the year before the first tip when star 6-10 center Moses Kingsley decided to return for his senior year.
Incarnate Word at Texas 8:00 PM ET
A new-look Texas team starts its second year under Shaka Smart on Friday night against visiting Incarnate Word. The No. 22 Longhorns have zero returning full-time starters but a top-5 recruiting class that included a pair of McDonald's All-Americans.
Norfolk State at Mississippi St. 8:00 PM ET
Ben Howland is counting on a young roster to lift Mississippi State back into the top half of the SEC and onto the NCAA Tournament. Howland will get his first regular-season look at freshman Mario Kegler and company when the Bulldogs host Norfolk State in the opener on Friday.
Tennessee Tech at Georgia Tech 8:00 PM ET
Josh Pastner takes control at Georgia Tech, but the new Yellow Jackets coach faces an uphill climb in the ultra-competitive ACC entering Friday’s season opener at home against Tennessee Tech. The Yellow Jackets are missing 52.3 points and 21.2 rebounds per game from a quartet of graduated seniors, leading a talented yet inexperienced core of returners Pastner will look to fashion into his style of play.
Morgan St. at Houston 8:00 PM ET
A late run nearly got Houston into the NCAA Tournament last year. The Cougars have plenty of experience returning to help them reach that goal this season, which starts Friday against visiting Morgan State.
Jacksonville St. at Tulsa 8:00 PM ET
Tulsa earned one of the last four spots in the NCAA Tournament last season and fell to Michigan in a First Four contest. Head coach Frank Haith and the Golden Hurricane are trying to avoid any nail biting on selection Sunday this year and will kick off the 2016-17 campaign by hosting Jacksonville State on Friday.
Central Arkansas at Wisconsin 8:00 PM ET
Greg Gard begins his first full season in charge of 10th-ranked Wisconsin when it opens the 2016-17 campaign at home to Central Arkansas on Friday. Gard shed the interim tag after leading the Badgers, who were 7-5 when Bo Ryan retired abruptly on Dec. 15, 2015, to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament, and he kicks off a new era in Madison with a plethora of weapons at his disposal.
Louisiana-Lafayette at Minnesota 8:00 PM ET
Coach Richard Pitino’s very young Minnesota squad makes its 2016-17 season debut when it hosts non-conference foe Louisiana on Friday night. The Golden Gophers have just two seniors on their roster, though one, Akeem Springs, is a graduate transfer from Milwaukee and the other, Darin Haugh, played in just six games a year ago, his first with the team.
Mississippi Valley State at Northwestern 8:00 PM ET

Northwestern may have its share of questions entering its season opener against visiting Mississippi Valley State on Friday, but there are plenty of viable answers as it looks to improve on its first 20-win season. The Big Ten program will likely get a good look at all those options against a Southwestern Athletic Conference foe that should improve on its eight wins from a year ago.

Gardner-Webb at Southern Methodist 8:00 PM ET
Though unranked as it opens its season on Friday at home against Gardner-Webb in the 2K Classic, SMU is still a talented team that is capable of contending for the American Athletic Conference's regular-season title. Tim Jankovich, who takes over for the legendary Larry Brown after serving as the Mustangs' associate head coach for four seasons, inherits a team that has consistently been one of the nation's best rebounding and defensive squads and includes plenty of scoring potential.
Grambling State at East Carolina 8:00 PM ET
While three double-figure scorers return, veteran coach Jeff Lebo has a slew of questions to answer as his East Carolina squad hosts Grambling State in the season opener for both teams on Friday night. Electric scorer B.J. Tyson will man the point for the first time in his career as the Pirates look to improve on their dismal 12-win campaign from a season ago which saw them lose six straight games on two separate occasions.
Campbell at Oklahoma St. 8:00 PM ET

It might be tough to find another major conference program coming off a 12-win season with higher hopes this winter than Oklahoma State. And the Cowboys will get their first chance to build on that optimism when they host Campbell on Friday night.

Savannah State at Iowa St. 8:00 PM ET
Monte Morris decided against leaving for the NBA and Naz Mitrou-Long is back because of a hip ailment and that gives Iowa State two players who might not have been part of the squad as it opens the season against visiting Savannah State on Friday. Morris, a senior point guard, was recently named the Big 12 preseason Player of the Year while Long provides solid 3-point shooting after he landed a medical redshirt season.
Coastal Carolina at Alabama 9:00 PM ET
Alabama's win-loss record from last season might lead people to think that Avery Johnson's first year at the helm was a disappointment - but there was plenty to build on as Johnson kicks off his second year as Crimson Tide coach on Friday against visiting Coastal Carolina. Alabama had a losing record in SEC play but knocked off four Top-25 teams along the way and will look to continue that momentum this season.
Northwestern St. at Texas A&M 9:00 PM ET

Coming off one of the most successful seasons in program history, Texas A&M might find it a tough act to follow with only one returning starter and eight newcomers. Ready or not, though, that quest begins Friday night as the Aggies tip off the season by hosting Northwestern State.

Utah Valley at Gonzaga 9:00 PM ET
Gonzaga lost some star power off a 28-win squad but the No. 13 Bulldogs have reloaded with transfers as they open the season against visiting Utah Valley on Friday. Kyle Wiltjer and Domantas Sabonis have departed but junior point guard Nigel Williams-Goss heads the list of three transfers expected to make an impact.
SE Missouri St. at Illinois 9:00 PM ET
Illinois is looking forward to getting a boost this season from some old faces, starting Friday night when the Illini host Southeast Missouri State in a non-conference clash. Point guard Tracy Abrams has missed the last two seasons with injury, while Mike Thorne Jr. missed much of 2015-16 as well, but both are healthy and ready to lead the Illini.
Bethune-Cookman at St. John's 9:00 PM ET
Chris Mullin's first year at his alma mater was an unmitigated disaster as St. John's won only eight games and had a litany of problems off the court. The Red Storm look to turn things around this season when they host Bethune-Cookman on Friday.
Howard at Michigan 9:00 PM ET
Michigan begins the season unranked for the second straight year, but hopes to build on its NCAA tournament appearance when it hosts Howard on Friday. The Wolverines overcame season-ending injuries to co-captains Caris LeVert (foot) and Spike Albrecht (hip) to sneak into the tournament via the First Four route before bowing out to Notre Dame in the first round, and they hope to book a return trip despite some major roster upheaval in the offseason.
Indiana at Kansas 9:00 PM ET
Two teams with high expectations meet in the season opener when second-ranked Kansas takes on No. 12 Indiana on Friday in the Armed Forces Classic at Honolulu, HI. Kansas has won 12 consecutive Big 12 regular-season titles and is loaded for another national title run while the Hoosiers bring back a talented lineup led by center Thomas Bryant and guard James Blackmon Jr.
Ohio St. at Navy 9:00 PM ET
Ohio State looks to return to national prominence after a few down years when it opens the season on the road against Navy as part of the Veterans Classic on Friday. The Buckeyes advanced to the Final Four in 2012 before appearing in the Elite Eight in 2013, but have won just one tournament game since then and hope to bounce back from a turbulent year, which saw four players from their five-man recruiting class in 2015 transfer to other schools.
North Carolina at Tulane 9:00 PM ET
North Carolina advanced all the way to the NCAA Tournament championship game last spring only to fall to Villanova on a last-second 3-pointer, and great things are expected of the team again in 2016-17. The Tar Heels, who are ranked No. 6 in preseason polling, kick off the campaign by visiting Tulane on Friday.
Maine at Virginia Tech 9:00 PM ET

The ACC appears to be so tough this year that Virginia Tech returns seven of its top eight scorers from a 20-win team and was still picked to finish 10th among the league’s 15 clubs. So winning non-conference games, such as Friday’s opener against visiting Maine, are already at a premium as the Hokies seek their first NCAA Tournament trip since 2007.

Sacramento State at Colorado 9:00 PM ET

Colorado is seeking its fifth NCAA Tournament trip in the last six seasons, and that quest tips off Friday night as the Buffaloes host Sacramento State of the Big Sky Conference. Coach Tad Boyle’s team is bringing back five returning starters, including forward Xavier Johnson who missed last season with a torn Achilles tendon, and is picked fifth in the Pac

Prairie View A&M at Oregon St. 9:00 PM ET
Oregon State begins life without star Gary Payton II on Friday as the Beavers host Prairie View A&M in the season opener for both teams. Payton is looking to latch on with an NBA roster after winning back-to-back Pac-12 defensive player of the year awards and helping Oregon State reach the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 26 years last season.
Portland St. at Arizona State 9:00 PM ET
Arizona State finished second-to-last in the Pac-12 Conference last season and outsiders expect little improvement when it opens its second campaign under coach Bobby Hurley on Friday against visiting Portland State. The Sun Devils were picked to finish 11th in the 12-team conference by 27 media members who cover the league, mostly due to a dearth of helpful big men.
Pacific at UCLA 9:00 PM ET
UCLA is hoping to get off to a positive start when it hosts Pacific on Friday - something the 20th-ranked Bruins failed to do last November in a season-opening overtime loss to Monmouth, which seemed to snowball into one of their worst seasons in the post-John Wooden era. UCLA shouldn't have any excuses this campaign, as it returns four starters and eight of its top 10 scorers from 2015-16 while bringing aboard three talented freshmen.
Western Illinois at Kansas St. 9:00 PM ET
What could be a make-or-break year for fifth-year Kansas State head coach Bruce Weber begins Friday night when the Wildcats host Western Illinois. Kansas State has failed to make it to the NCAA Tournament the last two years and is picked to finish ninth in the Big 12 this season.
UMKC at Creighton 9:00 PM ET
The wave of transfers sweeping the nation has been good to Creighton, which used a pair of them in 2015-16 to rebound from the program's first losing season in six years under coach Greg McDermott. Ex-Kansas State standout Marcus Foster will join former transfers Maurice Watson Jr. and Cole Huff and make his debut in his new home Friday as the 23rd-ranked Bluejays host Missouri-Kansas City.
North Florida at Auburn 9:30 PM ET

The third season of a new regime usually begins to bring better returns, but Auburn might be at least a year away from breaking through under Bruce Pearl. The Tigers will find out more about their young, inexperienced roster when they open the season Friday against visiting North Florida.

Kennesaw St. at Iowa 9:30 PM ET
By most accounts, Iowa guard Peter Jok was one of the most improved players in the Big Ten - if not the country - last season. With last year's senior-laden roster having moved on, the preseason all-conference selection hopes he can lead a much younger Hawkeyes squad to a season-opening win for the sixth straight season when they host Kennesaw State on Friday.
South Dakota State at California 10:00 PM ET
California lost dynamic forward Jaylen Brown to the NBA, but there’s still plenty of star power on this season’s roster, beginning with preseason All-American forward Ivan Rabb. After exiting last season’s NCAA Tournament in the first round, the Golden Bears are eager to open a new campaign Friday against visiting South Dakota State, which was picked to finish second in the Summit League preseason poll.
Nevada at St. Mary's 11:00 PM ET
Saint Mary's will have no shortage of experience when it opens the season Friday against visiting Nevada, but the No. 19 Gaels figure to face a stiff test right from the start. Saint Mary's returns five starters and 99 percent of its scoring output from last season's team, which was the most successful in program history after winning 29 games and advancing to the NIT quarterfinals.
Montana at Southern California 11:00 PM ET
USC took a major step forward in its third season under coach Andy Enfield, and maintaining that momentum will be a challenge heading into its season opener against visiting Montana on Friday. The Trojans were one of the youngest teams in the nation while winning 21 games last season - two fewer than their previous two seasons combined - but unexpectedly lost several eligible returnees in the offseason, including their second- and third-leading scorers.
Army at Oregon 11:00 PM ET
Oregon coach Dana Altman would like to pump the brakes on the preseason hype surrounding the fifth-ranked Ducks, who return four starters from last season’s Elite Eight squad. According to Altman, the Ducks still have plenty of question marks heading into Friday’s season opener against visiting Army, which was picked to finish last in the Patriot League preseason poll after going 19-14 a year ago.
Harvard at Stanford 11:00 PM ET
Stanford tips off the Jerod Haase era Friday as the former Kansas star leads the Cardinal to Shanghai, China, to face Harvard in the season opener for both teams. Haase was hired from UAB to replace Johnny Dawkins after last-season’s injury-plagued Stanford team finished ninth in the Pac-12 and lost in the first round of the conference tournament.
