Preview Roundups
March 01, 2017
Auburn at Georgia 6:30 PM ET
Georgia hosts Auburn on Wednesday playing some of its best basketball of the season, despite a knee injury that has sidelined leading scorer and rebounder Yante Maten indefinitely. The Bulldogs have won four of their past five games – going 2-1 since Maten was injured in a Feb. 18 loss to Kentucky – as J.J. Frazier has taken over as the team’s go-to scorer.
Arkansas at Florida 7:00 PM ET

No. 12 Florida can assure itself no worse than the second seed in next week’s SEC tournament with a win in its final home game of the season on Wednesday, but it will have to defeat one of the league’s most dangerous road teams in Arkansas. The Razorbacks have been road warriors in conference play and are looking for a program-record seventh SEC win away from home, which would get them to 12 league victories overall for only the second time in the last 22 seasons.

Tennessee at Louisiana State 7:00 PM ET
Tennessee is scuffling toward the finish line, but it won't be getting any sympathy from LSU. The Volunteers look to avoid a fifth loss in six games Wednesday when they visit the Tigers, who have lost 15 in a row since winning their SEC opener.
Michigan at Northwestern 7:00 PM ET
Northwestern will try once again to set a new program record for most wins in a season when it hosts Michigan in a key clash for both teams on Wednesday. The Wildcats have dropped back-to-back games, including a heartbreaking 63-62 loss to Indiana, to stay stuck on 20 victories; they hope to get over the hump by beating the Wolverines for the first time in nearly two years.
Connecticut at East Carolina 7:00 PM ET
Connecticut has not won a game all season playing without Jalen Adams and their star point guard is questionable for Wednesday's American Athletic Conference contest at East Carolina. Adams sprained his ankle last game against SMU and although X-rays came back negative, he has not practiced since.
N.C. State at Clemson 8:00 PM ET
Clemson looks to finish a frustrating regular season with victories over the bottom two teams in the ACC, starting with a visit from North Carolina State on Wednesday night. The Tigers have lost three straight and six of seven after Saturday’s 76-74 setback against No. 17 Florida State while nine of their 12 ACC defeats have come by six points or fewer.
Boston College at Notre Dame 8:00 PM ET
Notre Dame will try to keep alive its shot at a share of the ACC regular-season title when it hosts last-place Boston College on Wednesday. The 13th-ranked Fighting Irish have won five in a row and are 1 1/2 games behind North Carolina with two contests to play after the Tar Heels fell at Virginia on Monday.
Mississippi at Alabama 8:30 PM ET
Alabama's offense was a major concern heading into 2016-17 and, while the Crimson Tide have shown flashes of brilliance on that end of the floor, they have struggled mightily of late as they host Ole Miss on Wednesday in their final home game of the regular season. Avery Johnson's crew has scored just 108 combined points in back-to-back SEC losses to Georgia and Texas A&M.
Texas at Texas Tech 9:00 PM ET

Only one game separates Texas Tech and Texas in the Big 12 standings, but their seasons have been worlds apart. That disparity could be on display Wednesday night when the Red Raiders host the Longhorns in their regular-season home finale.

Michigan St at Illinois 9:00 PM ET
Michigan State looks to solidify its case for the NCAA Tournament when it visits an Illinois team suddenly considered to be on the bubble in a Big Ten contest on Wednesday. The Spartans have won two straight to likely make their 20th straight appearance in the Big Dance a reality, while the Fighting Illini have won three in a row to put themselves in the postseason conversation.
Louisville at Wake Forest 9:00 PM ET
Louisville coach Rick Pitino made it clear shortly after the beginning of ACC action that he wanted Donovan Mitchell to start playing like a star, and that push appears to be all the sophomore guard needed to become one of the better players in the conference. Following yet another explosive offensive performance from Mitchell over the weekend, the seventh-ranked Cardinals wrap up their regular-season road schedule Wednesday when they visit Wake Forest.
Kansas St. at Texas Christian 9:00 PM ET
With just about all hopes of a first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1998 dashed due to late-season slide, TCU has its sights set on a first-ever sweep of Kansas State when the Horned Frogs host the Wildcats on Wednesday. It’s a pivotal game in the Big 12, as both teams are in sixth place in the league and fighting for the first-round bye that goes to the top six finishers.
Marquette at Xavier 9:00 PM ET
Luke Fischer and Marquette have plenty to play for in Wednesday's Big East game at Xavier. A win keeps the Golden Eagles on the right side of the NCAA Tournament bubble and Fischer has an opportunity to join select company in program history.
Washington St. at Southern California 10:00 PM ET
Washington State and USC are rolling in opposite directions heading into their Pac-12 game Wednesday night in Los Angeles. USC has lost a season-high four in a row, most recently blowing a six-point lead with 30 seconds left Sunday at Arizona State and losing 83-82, the same day Washington State won its second in a row with a 79-71 win against in-state rival Washington.
Washington at UCLA 11:00 PM ET
UCLA might be out of the hunt for a Pac-12 regular season title, but the No. 2 Bruins are playing as well as any team in the conference heading into their second-to-last game Wednesday night against visiting Washington. UCLA went 7-0 in February and that included wins against No. 6 Oregon and No. 8 Arizona, the two teams that came into the week ahead of the Bruins in the Pac-12 standings.
