Preview Roundups
February 25, 2020
Duke at Wake Forest 7:00 PM ET
After a brief departure from the norm, seventh-ranked Duke got back to its high-scoring ways in a rout of Virginia Tech Saturday night. The Blue Devils will try to build another winning streak and stay close in the race for first place in the ACC when they visit Wake Forest on Tuesday.
DePaul at Xavier 7:00 PM ET
Xavier already has 10 losses - and the Musketeers don't want that number to get much higher as they attempt to catch the eye of the NCAA Tournament selection committee. Certainly one thing that would not help is a loss to DePaul on Tuesday when they teams square off in Big East action.
Iowa at Michigan St 7:00 PM ET
Two of the teams tied for second place in the Big Ten square off Tuesday night when No. 17 Iowa visits No. 24 Michigan State. The Hawkeyes and Spartans are both sitting at 10-6 and two games behind first-place Maryland, with Iowa coming off a victory over No. 23 Ohio State last Thursday while Michigan State earned a road win over Nebraska the same night.
Mississippi at Auburn 7:00 PM ET
No. 15 Auburn showed plenty of heart to rally from 17 points down in the second half for a victory over the weekend and looks to ride that wave of emotion when they host struggling Ole Miss on Tuesday night in an SEC contest. The Tigers trailed 54-37 more than five minutes into the second half before running off 18 straight points and halting a two-game slide while extending their home winning streak to 18 with a 73-66 victory over Tennessee on Saturday.
Kentucky at Texas A&M 7:00 PM ET
No. 9 Kentucky is on a roll and in the driver's seat for the SEC regular-season title. However, the Wildcats lack depth, and Texas A&M will try to exploit that Tuesday when it hosts the Wildcats.
Dayton at George Mason 7:00 PM ET
Third-ranked Dayton continues its March toward Madness when it visits George Mason on Tuesday in an Atlantic 10 game. The Flyers, who are projected to be a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament by ESPN's Joe Lunardi, have won 16 straight after national player of the year candidate Obi Toppin scored 28 points to go over 1,000 for his career in an 80-70 victory over Duquesne on Saturday.
Texas Christian at Iowa State 7:00 PM ET
RJ Nembhard more than held his own against one of the country's best guards in early January, going off for a career-high 31 points to offset a triple-double by Tyrese Haliburton in TCU's overtime home win over Iowa State. The sophomore will attempt to put together a similar performance nearly two months later against the Cyclones without Haliburton when the Horned Frogs visit Ames on Tuesday.
Kansas State at Baylor 8:00 PM ET
Baylor earned its fair share of superlatives over the last few months, but none figure to top what Hall of Fame coach Bill Self said after his Kansas team ended the Bears' Big 12-record 23-game winning streak over the weekend. Three days after suffering their first loss since Nov. 8, second-ranked Baylor attempts to keep pace with the Jayhawks atop the conference Tuesday when they host Kansas State.
Clemson at Georgia Tech 9:00 PM ET
Clemson is surging at the right time, winning three straight games entering Tuesday’s visit to Georgia Tech, and hot shooting has fueled the Tigers' recent success. Clemson set a program record for best shooting performance in an ACC road game in Saturday’s 82-64 victory at Boston College, hitting 68.9 percent of its shots from the field, and during their winning streak the Tigers are shooting 56.5 percent overall and 50 percent from 3-point range.
NC State at North Carolina 9:00 PM ET
North Carolina State got one big boost to its NCAA Tournament resume last week and then saw the chance for another fall by the wayside. The Wolfpack can ill afford another slip-up at last-place North Carolina when the two old rivals meet in an ACC tilt Tuesday night in Chapel Hill.
Alabama at Mississippi State 9:00 PM ET
After easily dispatching Ole Miss, Alabama will head downstate to take on Mississippi State on Tuesday in an SEC showdown. The Crimson Tide scored 103 points against Ole Miss - the most in school history in a non-overtime road game - and will look to complete a season sweep of the Bulldogs.
Memphis at Southern Methodist 9:00 PM ET
SMU's recent road trip did not go as planned, leaving the Mustangs with a two-game losing streak as they enter Tuesday's home date with Memphis. SMU's chances of winning the American Athletic Conference regular-season title are basically crushed following defeats at Tulane and Tulsa.
Tulane at Tulsa 9:00 PM ET
After a 22-point victory against Southern Methodist and a Houston loss at Memphis, Tulsa sits just a half-game out of first place in the American Athletic Conference standings with less than three weeks remaining before the league tournament. The Golden Hurricane will look to keep pace when it hosts Tulane on Tuesday night, a team they have beaten in six straight meetings.
Texas Tech at Oklahoma 9:00 PM ET
San Diego State's dream of becoming the first team in the 21-year history of the Mountain West Conference to go undefeated during the regular season came crashing down on Saturday when the 14 1/2-point favorite Aztecs were upset at home by rebuilding UNLV. San Diego State, which dropped just one spot in the rankings to No. 5 after having it's 26-game winning streak snapped, will try and rebound on Tuesday night when it plays its final home game of the season against Colorado State.
Texas Tech at Oklahoma 9:00 PM ET
Texas Tech has beaten Oklahoma four consecutive times for the first time in school history. The No. 21 Red Raiders will try for a fifth on Tuesday when the teams meet at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City.
