Preview Roundups
February 16, 2020
Cincinnati at East Carolina 12:00 PM ET
Cincinnati sits at No. 48 in the NET rankings after its latest overtime win over Memphis on Thursday and sits firmly on the NCAA Tournament bubble according to most bracketology experts. With AAC statement games remaining against Wichita State next weekend and conference-leader Houston the following weekend, the Bearcats need to guard against a letdown when they travel to East Carolina on Sunday.
Villanova at Temple 1:00 PM ET
Villanova's recent stretch has been anything but easy and it may not lighten up much anytime soon as the 16th-ranked Wildcats embark on a three-game road trip, beginning with a non-league contest at Temple on Sunday. This game is part of the Big 5 - an annual round-robin in which five Philadelphia-area schools play each other for city bragging rights.
Indiana at Michigan 1:00 PM ET
Michigan looks to continue its late-season surge when it hosts Indiana on Saturday in Big Ten play. The Wolverines have won four of their last five contests, including a 79-54 rout of Northwestern on Wednesday, to climb within a game of reaching .500 in conference play, and they hope to continue their winning ways by taking down the Hoosiers for the seventh consecutive time in the rivalry.
Iowa at Minnesota 1:00 PM ET
The Big Ten has yet to find a way to contain Luka Garza, but Iowa has returned the favor far too often on the other end of the floor - especially on the road. The 17th-ranked Hawkeyes hope to bounce back from yet another lackluster defensive performance away from home Sunday when they travel to Minnesota in search of a regular-season sweep.
Tulane at Wichita St. 2:00 PM ET
Wichita State picked up a much-needed win at Central Florida this week to boost its ailing NCAA Tournament resume. The Shockers will try to carry the momentum home when they host last-place Tulane in another American Athletic Conference matchup.
Memphis at Connecticut 3:00 PM ET
Once ranked and a surefire NCAA Tournament team, Memphis now appears to be sitting on the outside looking in after two straight losses, including an upset by South Florida. The Tigers have multiple chances remaining to boost their resume but must start with a road win Sunday at Connecticut -- a team they have beaten four straight times -- in their last regular-season matchup as conference opponents.
San Diego St. at Boise St. 4:00 PM ET
San Diego State has already clinched its seventh Mountain West regular-season title, but coach Brian Dutcher is far from satisfied. The fourth-ranked Aztecs look to maintain their perfect record on Sunday against Boise State at ExtraMile Arena, where the Broncos are 12-1 this season.
NC State at Boston College 6:00 PM ET
North Carolina State has won the first two legs of a three-game stretch on the road, giving their shaky NCAA Tournament resume a much-needed boost. With important home dates against No. 7 Duke and No. 8 Florida State on the horizon, the Wolfpack will try to sweep the run of road games Sunday evening with a visit to Boston College.
Arizona State at California 6:00 PM ET
Reserve guard Alonzo Verge, Jr. has emerged as a difference-maker for surging Arizona State, which has won four in a row in Pac-12 play for the first time since the 2009-10 season. The Sun Devils look to extend the run on Sunday when they visit a California team that ranks last in the league in scoring at 62.2 points per game.
Utah at Oregon 9:00 PM ET
No. 18 Oregon looks to be back on track in the Pac-12 Conference. The Ducks snapped a two-game skid by rallying for a 68-60 win over No. 15 Colorado on Thursday and will attempt to close out a two-game homestand with another victory when they welcome Utah to Eugene.
