Preview Roundups
January 13, 2016
Southern Methodist at East Carolina 6:15 PM ET
SMU seeks to remain one of two remaining unbeaten teams when it visits East Carolina in American Athletic Conference play on Wednesday. The Mustangs have won their first 15 games to join South Carolina as the nation's only undefeated squads.
Rutgers at Ohio St. 6:30 PM ET

Ohio State had won seven straight and was playing championship-caliber defense before being outplayed in every facet of the game at Indiana on Sunday. The Buckeyes look to get back on the winning track Wednesday when they host a Rutgers team that has won only two Big Ten games since joining the conference last season and is coming off its own lopsided loss to Nebraska on Saturday.

Georgetown at St. John's 6:30 PM ET
Chris Mullin of St. John's is still looking for his first Big East coaching victory when he faces long-time rival Georgetown at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday. Mullin scored 25 or more points five times in his playing days against the Hoyas, but faces an entirely different task as the Red Storm have lost seven straight games and will get a stern test from the Hoyas, who are one game behind first-place Villanova in the conference standings.
Tennessee at Georgia 7:00 PM ET
Bouncing back from difficult losses is a trait of every good team, and Tennessee and Georgia both face that challenge when the Volunteers travel to face the Bulldogs on Wednesday. Each squad has dropped two of their first three SEC games to start the season, including a pair of dispiriting defeats Saturday as the Volunteers blew a 92-88 lead in losing at home to Texas A&M while the Bulldogs could not put away Ole Miss on the road in falling 72-71.
Houston at Cincinnati 7:00 PM ET
Cincinnati looks to win back-to-back games for the first time since mid-December when it hosts Houston in American Athletic Conference action Wednesday. The Bearcats feel a little pressure after losing to three ranked non-conference opponents and dropping two early AAC games.
Boston College at Syracuse 7:00 PM ET
Syracuse aims to avoid its first five-game losing streak since 1968-69 when it hosts Boston College on Wednesday. The Orange are 0-4 in ACC play, although they have either led or been close in the final five minutes of all four league contests.
Duke at Clemson 7:00 PM ET
Clemson's struggles during its non-conference schedule - not to mention the program's 58th straight loss at North Carolina in its ACC opener - provided very little hope that it had much of a chance to turn things around during league play. However, the Tigers have won three straight after posting their most impressive victory of the season over the weekend and can really shake things up atop the conference with another such result Wednesday when they host No. 6 Duke.
Temple at Memphis 8:00 PM ET
Temple looks to keep its road roll going when it travels to take on Memphis in an American Athletic Conference contest Wednesday. The Owls have won their last three road games, including victories over nationally ranked Cincinnati and Connecticut in their last two contests away from home.
Texas Christian at Baylor 8:15 PM ET
Baylor, which earned a key road victory at 14th-ranked Iowa State on Saturday, will try for its third straight Big 12 win on Wednesday when its hosts TCU. The 22nd-ranked Bears, who begin the week in a tie for third place in the Big 12 with No. 2 Oklahoma, play three of their next four games in Waco, capped by a Jan. 23 showdown with the Sooners.
Marquette at Villanova 8:30 PM ET
No. 7 Villanova has won six straight games without an ugly win in the bunch. The Wildcats are talented and confident, which could pose a lot of problems for visiting Marquette in Wednesday's Big East matchup.
Penn St. at Purdue 8:30 PM ET
Purdue looks to get back on the winning track when it hosts Penn State in Big Ten play on Wednesday. The Boilermakers turned in one of their most disappointing displays of the season as they committed 16 turnovers in the 84-70 loss at Illinois on Sunday to fall six spots to No. 24 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.
Mississippi at Louisiana State 9:00 PM ET
After opening its new $96 million arena with back-to-back victories, Ole Miss heads out on the road Wednesday to face LSU and freshman phenom Ben Simmons. The Tigers began SEC play with impressive wins over Vanderbilt and Kentucky before falling 68-62 at Florida on Saturday despite Simmons’ 28 points and 17 rebounds.
South Carolina at Alabama 9:00 PM ET

South Carolina looks to remain among the dwindling ranks of undefeated teams when it travels to Alabama for a Southeastern Conference matchup on Wednesday. The 15th-ranked Gamecocks are one of only two unbeaten clubs along with SMU and are within two victories of matching the best start (1933-34) - and longest winning streak - in school history.

Oklahoma at Oklahoma St. 9:00 PM ET
Oklahoma senior guard Buddy Hield looks to continue building his national player of the year resume when the second-ranked Sooners visit rival Oklahoma State on Wednesday in a Big 12 matchup. Hield has scored at least 30 in five of his last eight games after a 31-point performance in a 86-76 victory over Kansas State on Saturday.
Wake Forest at Virginia Tech 9:00 PM ET
Virginia Tech hosts Wake Forest on Wednesday for the 61st meeting in the series. The series is tied 30-30 and the teams appear as evenly matched as that record suggests.
Georgia Tech at Notre Dame 9:00 PM ET
Georgia Tech coach Brian Gregory was rewarded in his decision to start Quinton Stephens on Saturday against then-No. 4 Virginia. Stephens, hot-shooting Adam Smith and the rest of the Yellow Jackets will look to build upon Gregory’s signature home win when they travel to Notre Dame on Wednesday.
Florida St. at N.C. State 9:00 PM ET
Conference play has not been kind to either Florida State or North Carolina State, but one side is sure to notch its first ACC win of the season when the teams collide in Raleigh, N.C. on Wednesday. Both squads won their final six non-conference games before dropping three straight league contests and N.C. State experienced the heartbreak of those losses coming by an average of 4.3 points.
Oregon St. at Colorado 11:00 PM ET

Oregon State looks to continue its best start in 27 years when it visits Colorado on Wednesday night. The Beavers have won five of their last six and are coming off a 77-71 home win over California on Saturday.

Southern California at UCLA 11:00 PM ET
USC and UCLA posted impressive wins last weekend against then-No. 6 Arizona and will try to maintain their momentum when they meet Wednesday in a Pac-12 showdown at Pauley Pavilion. The Trojans needed four overtimes to finally knock off the Wildcats and improve to 11-0 at home for the first time since 1973-74, doing so just two days after the Bruins defeated Arizona on a last-second 3-pointer by Bryce Alford on Thursday.
