Notre Dame at Virginia Tech 1:00 PM ET
Notre Dame and Virginia Tech kick off their ACC season on New Year’s Day as the Fighting Irish visit the 10th-ranked Hokies on Tuesday. Both teams are coming off wins following their holiday breaks, with Notre Dame edging Coppin State and the Hokies thumping Maryland-Eastern Shore.
Winthrop at Florida State 2:00 PM ET
Ninth-ranked Florida State has a major challenge awaiting when the ACC season starts next weekend, but the Seminoles first look to add one more victory as they finish the non-conference slate against visiting Winthrop on Tuesday. Florida State has won six consecutive games and shot at least 50 percent from the field in the last three, including a season-best 55.4 effort in the 81-59 victory over Saint Louis last time out on Dec. 22.
Marquette at St. John's 7:00 PM ET
St. John’s will look to shake off a buzzer-beating loss against Seton Hall to open its Big East schedule when the Red Storm host No. 18 Marquette on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles begin conference play riding an eight-game win streak thanks to junior Markus Howard and his 25.1 points per game, which ranks first in the Big East and fifth in the country.
Cal St. Fullerton at Washington 10:00 PM ET
A few hours after the Washington football team wraps up its season with a Rose Bowl showdown against Ohio State, the Huskies basketball team will play its final non-conference tuneup against visiting Cal State Fullerton on Tuesday. It will be the first game in 11 days for Mike Hopkins' squad, which went into the holiday break following a very uneven performance in a 57-41 victory over Sacramento State.
