Preview Roundups
December 16, 2018
Atlanta at Brooklyn 3:00 PM ET
The Brooklyn Nets and Spencer Dinwiddie are enjoying quite a week, the team riding a four-game winning streak and its sixth man flourishing with a contract extension heading into Sunday’s home contest against the struggling Atlanta Hawks. Dinwiddie, hours after signing a three-year extension, came off the bench to score 27 points in the Nets 125-118 home victory Friday over Washington, a game in which Brooklyn saw a 16-point lead dwindle to four in the fourth quarter.
Philadelphia at Cleveland 3:30 PM ET
The Philadelphia 76ers are enduring their first losing streak since October and will try to avoid their first three-game slide of the season when they visit the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday. The 76ers, who last dropped back-to-back games on Oct. 23 and 24, fell at home against the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday before dropping a 113-101 decision to the Indiana Pacers on Friday - both with star swingman Jimmy Butler sidelined.
New York at Indiana 5:00 PM ET
The Indiana Pacers continue to display a dominance on the defensive end of the floor that has vaulted them toward the top of the Eastern Conference. They look to continue their stingy ways and pick up a seventh consecutive victory when the New York Knicks pay a visit Sunday evening.
L.A. Lakers at Washington 6:00 PM ET
The Los Angeles Lakers are soaring toward the top of the Western Conference and look to build off another runaway win when they visit the new-look Washington Wizards on Sunday. LeBron James and Lonzo Ball both recorded triple-doubles for the Lakers in Friday's 128-100 rout of Charlotte as Los Angeles won for the seventh time in nine games, with three of the victories coming by at least 23 points.
Sacramento at Dallas 7:00 PM ET
The presence of future Hall of Famer Dirk Nowitzki could not help the Dallas Mavericks solve their problems on the road Thursday, but home court has been much more welcoming. The Mavericks will try to run their home winning streak to 12 straight when Nowitzki makes his 2018-19 home debut against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday.
Miami at New Orleans 7:00 PM ET
The New Orleans Pelicans haven't managed to get a winning streak off the ground in nearly a month but could change that with a victory over the visiting Miami Heat on Sunday. The Pelicans, who traded wins and losses over the last 10 games, have not won back-to-back games since a three-game streak from Nov. 16-19.
Toronto at Denver 8:00 PM ET
The Toronto Raptors' hopes of a perfect four-game road trip came to an end at Portland on Friday, but they could still head home with a winning record on the excursion. The Raptors will try to finish on a high note when they visit the Denver Nuggets on Sunday in a battle of conference leaders.
