Baltimore at Boston 1:05 PM ET
The Boston Red Sox are heading into an offseason of uncertainty after failing to make the playoffs but are trying to finish the regular season on a positive note. The Red Sox will try to even the final series at one win apiece when they host the Baltimore Orioles in the second of a three-game set on Saturday.
Minnesota at Kansas City 2:15 PM ET
The Minnesota Twins have shown no sign of slowing down since clinching the American League Central earlier this week and can push their winning streak to six in a row when they continue a three-game series at the Kansas City Royals on Saturday. A rain-shortened 6-2 win in Friday's series opener gave the Twins 100 victories for the second time in franchise history.
Tampa Bay at Toronto 3:07 PM ET
The Tampa Bay Rays clinched an American League wild-card spot with a victory on Friday combined with a loss by the Cleveland Indians but are still trying to earn the top spot and home-field advantage in the wild card game. After pulling even with the Oakland Athletics in that race late Friday night, the Rays visit the Toronto Blue Jays in the penultimate game of the regular season on Saturday.
Detroit at Chi. White Sox 3:40 PM ET
The Chicago White Sox and Detroit Tigers have been out of playoff contention for a while, so it's only appropriate their final series of the season is struggling to get off the ground. The White Sox will attempt to host a doubleheader to begin a three-game series against the Tigers for the second straight day Saturday after Friday's scheduled twin bill got rained out.
Cleveland at Washington 4:05 PM ET
The Washington Nationals have secured a spot in next Tuesday’s National League Wild Card Game, but there is still plenty of work to do as they host the Cleveland Indians for an interleague contest on Saturday afternoon. The Nationals recorded an 8-2 triumph Friday to end Cleveland’s hopes of an American League playoff spot and can seal home field for the Wild Card Game with a win or a Milwaukee loss Saturday.
LA Dodgers at San Francisco 4:05 PM ET
Forgive Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts if he appears distracted by his team’s injury list during this weekend’s final series of the regular season. The Dodgers continue their three-game set against the host San Francisco Giants on Saturday and hope to welcome back several injured players before the team heads into the postseason.
Miami at Philadelphia 6:05 PM ET
Even though they occupy the bottom two rungs in the National League East on the final weekend of the regular season, the Philadelphia Phillies and Miami Marlins appear in no hurry to go home. The Phillies kept their hopes alive for their first winning season since 2011 in the series opener and continue their three-game set against the visiting Marlins on Saturday night.
Cincinnati at Pittsburgh 7:05 PM ET
The Pittsburgh Pirates followed a string of nine straight losses with four consecutive wins, the latest one in dramatic fashion to start their final series of the year. The Pirates can match their longest winning streak of the season and continue their domination at home of the Cincinnati Reds in the second of a three-game set on Saturday night.
Detroit at Chi. White Sox 7:10 PM ET
Chi. Cubs at St. Louis 7:15 PM ET
The St. Louis Cardinals are sabotaging their chances of winning the National League Central with three consecutive defeats. However, the Cardinals maintain a one-game lead over Milwaukee with two games to play and look to halt their slide on Saturday, when they host the Chicago Cubs for the middle contest of their three-game series.
Atlanta at NY Mets 7:15 PM ET
The New York Mets' season will end this weekend, but there remains intrigue heading into Saturday’s home matchup with the National League East champion Atlanta Braves as first baseman Pete Alonso chases major league history. The favorite to win NL Rookie of the Year belted his big-league leading 52nd homer of the season in the first inning of Friday’s 4-2 victory, tying the single-season rookie home run record set by Yankees slugger Aaron Judge two years ago.
NY Yankees at Texas 8:05 PM ET
Luis Severino makes another postseason tune-up when he gets the start for the New York Yankees on Saturday in the second of a three-game series at the Texas Rangers. The 25-year-old Severino has looked fantastic in two starts since missing the first five-plus months of the season with a rotator cuff issue, spinning nine scoreless innings in a pair of outings at home.
San Diego at Arizona 8:10 PM ET
The San Diego Padres clinched their fourth straight 90-defeat season on Friday but still believe they have the pieces in place to contend as soon as next season. Several key veterans will need to bounce back next year for the underachieving Padres, who continue their three-game series against the host Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday.
Milwaukee at Colorado 8:10 PM ET
Even entering the weekend with a seven-game winning streak, the Milwaukee Brewers knew they had a slim margin for error if they had any hope of claiming the top spot in the National League wild-card race or winning the NL Central. After falling victim to the Colorado Rockies in the series opener Friday, the Brewers hope to make a final push toward bettering their spot in the postseason Saturday when the teams meet again at Coors Field.
Houston at LA Angels 9:07 PM ET
Justin Verlander is just six away from becoming the 18th pitcher in major-league history to reach 3,000 strikeouts. The Cy Young Award candidate looks to reach that milestone while also needing to fan 12 batters to reach 300 in a season for the first time when the Houston Astros visit the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday for the third contest of their four-game series.
Oakland at Seattle 9:10 PM ET
The Oakland Athletics had their ticket to the postseason punched before taking the field on Friday, but they still have something for which to play during the final weekend of the regular season. Oakland looks to bounce back from a crucial loss when it visits the Seattle Mariners on Saturday for the penultimate game of the capaign.
