Philadelphia at Washington 7:05 PM ET
The Washington Nationals can go a long way toward clinching a playoff spot when they host the desperate Philadelphia Phillies on Monday night for the opener of a five-game series. The Nationals dropped into a virtual tie with Milwaukee for the top wild-card spot in the National League - they lead everyone else by at least four games - after their bullpen coughed up a lead in Sunday’s 5-3 setback at Miami.
Baltimore at Toronto 7:07 PM ET
The Baltimore Orioles and Toronto Blue Jays are playing out the string in the last week of the season while taking a look at some of the players that might help push the franchises back into playoff contention. The Orioles are coming off their first series win in a month and will try to continue the strong push to the finish when they visit the Blue Jays for the opener of a three-game series on Monday.
Boston at Tampa Bay 7:10 PM ET
The Boston Red Sox are mathematically eliminated from playoff contention, but that doesn't mean they're taking it easy on the Tampa Bay Rays. The Red Sox will try to earn a split of the four-game series and throw a wrench into the postseason plans of a division rival when they visit the Rays for the finale on Monday night.
Miami at NY Mets 7:10 PM ET
The New York Mets have virtually no margin for error entering the final homestand of the season Monday against the Miami Marlins. Despite a 6-3 win Sunday in Cincinnati to cap a 4-2 road trip, the Mets enter their final seven contests with a 4 1/2-game deficit in the race for the second wild card in the National League.
St. Louis at Arizona 9:40 PM ET
The St. Louis Cardinals marked their return to the postseason in just about the most satisfying manner they could ask for, sweeping four straight at the archrival Chicago Cubs over the weekend - all by one run. They will try to maintain the momentum from the dramatic sweep when they open a three-game road trip at the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday.
