NY Mets at Washington 1:05 PM ET
The last three National League Cy Young Award winners will be featured on the mound when the New York Mets visit the Washington Nationals on Tuesday for the second of a three-game series between National League East rivals. New York gives the ball to 2018 winner Jacob deGrom after taking the series opener 7-3 on Monday, while the Nationals counter with 2016 and 2017 Cy Young victor Max Scherzer.
Texas at NY Yankees 1:05 PM ET
The New York Yankees continue to bash their way to victories, even when down to their final outs. The Yankees will try to keep the momentum going as they enter the final stretch of the regular season by hosting the Texas Rangers on Monday in the opener of a three-game series.
Baltimore at Tampa Bay 1:10 PM ET
The Tampa Bay Rays have flexed their offensive muscle by scoring 30 runs during a four-game winning streak, a stretch that has catapulted the club into the top wild-card slot in the American League. The Rays aim to continue their good fortune on Monday afternoon when they open a three-game series against the visiting Baltimore Orioles.
Minnesota at Detroit 1:10 PM ET
The Minnesota Twins are taking advantage of a weak spot in the schedule to pad their lead in the American League Central before entering their final tough stretch of the regular season. The Twins will try to wrap up another series victory when they visit the AL-worst Detroit Tigers in the finale of a four-game series on Monday.
Toronto at Atlanta 1:20 PM ET
The Toronto Blue Jays head south to open a two-game series Monday at the Atlanta Braves, seeking offensive production of some type after being no-hit for the sixth time in franchise history in Sunday’s 2-0 home defeat against Houston. Toronto had no answer for Houston ace Justin Verlander, striking out 14 times and only drawing one walk to fall for the 10th time in its past 13 games on a two-run homer in the top of the ninth off closer Ken Giles.
Philadelphia at Cincinnati 2:10 PM ET
The Philadelphia Phillies can use every last bit of help they can get in their pursuit of a wild-card spot in the National League, and the schedule may have provided them some. The Phillies hope to take advantage of what should be a weary opponent Monday when they begin a seven-game road trip with the first of four contests in Cincinnati against the Reds.
San Francisco at St. Louis 2:15 PM ET
The St. Louis Cardinals will play their fifth game in roughly 50 hours when they follow up back-to-back doubleheaders with the opener of a four-game series against the visiting San Francisco Giants on Monday afternoon. The Cardinals swept two from the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday before splitting a pair with the Reds on Sunday, finishing the marathon weekend at Busch Stadium with a 5-3 loss in the nightcap.
Seattle at Chi. Cubs 2:20 PM ET
With four weeks left in the regular season, the Chicago Cubs are seeking consistency after an up-and-down stretch has pushed them three games out in the National League Central entering Monday’s series opener against the visiting Seattle Mariners. The Cubs were shut out in back-to-back losses to Milwaukee while losing a home series over the weekend and suffered a big scare when All-Star shortstop Javier Baez left Sunday’s 4-0 defeat with a jammed left thumb.
Houston at Milwaukee 4:10 PM ET
Gerrit Cole will have some sizable shoes to fill as he attempts to follow in the footsteps of fellow ace Justin Verlander, who recorded his third career no-hitter in the Houston Astros' last outing. Cole and the Astros aim to ride that momentum into Monday's opener of an abbreviated two-game interleague series against the host Milwaukee Brewers.
San Diego at Arizona 4:10 PM ET
The Arizona Diamondbacks were unable to finish the job against National League's best team over the weekend, but they'll attempt to move by trying to take advantage of some of the league's lesser squads over the next three weeks. That stretch begins when the Diamondbacks aim for their seventh win in an eight-game period in the first of three straight against the visiting San Diego Padres on Monday.
Chi. White Sox at Cleveland 7:10 PM ET
The Cleveland Indians continue to battle injury issues as they try to hold onto a playoff position in the American League and look to start moving forward again when the struggling Chicago White Sox pay a visit Monday for the first of four contests. The Indians were outscored 21-8 while getting swept in three games at Tampa Bay over the weekend and sit one-half game ahead of Oakland for the AL’s second wild card.
Colorado at LA Dodgers 8:10 PM ET
Despite holding a commanding advantage in the National League West, the Los Angeles Dodgers are in the middle of a forgettable stretch to what has been a mostly memorable season. The Dodgers may have boosted their spirits with a comeback road victory Sunday and will try to carry it over to the beginning of a six-game homestand Monday when they play the first of three contests against the fading Colorado Rockies.
