July 26, 2019
Colorado at Cincinnati 6:40 PM ET
The Cincinnati Reds entered the All-Star break with plenty of promise before dropping two of three against the Colorado Rockies to ignite a stretch in which they have lost eight of their last 13 contests. The Reds bid to get back on track Friday as they play the opener of a three-game series versus the Rockies.
LA Dodgers at Washington 7:05 PM ET
The Los Angeles Dodgers erupted for 76 runs en route to winning seven of nine games before encountering a speed bump in the form of consecutive one-run losses to the Los Angeles Angels during the Freeway Series. The Dodgers look to get back up to speed Friday when they begin a six-game road trip with the opener of a three-game set against the Washington Nationals.
Atlanta at Philadelphia 7:05 PM ET
Just last week it appeared the Philadelphia Phillies' hopes of winning the National League East were fading, but a well-timed hot streak has pulled them back within striking distance of first place as they host the division-leading Atlanta Braves on Friday. The Phillies beat Detroit 4-0 on Wednesday behind homers from J.T. Realmuto and Nick Williams, and enter this weekend’s three-game set in third place but within 5 1/2 games of Atlanta after winning five of their past six contests.
Tampa Bay at Toronto 7:07 PM ET
The Tampa Bay Rays, who appeared to be in a comfortable position for a playoff spot at the beginning of the month, are on the outside looking in as they begin a six-game road trip Friday with the first of three contests against the Toronto Blue Jays. The Rays dropped seven of their last nine outings, but averted a sweep at home against the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday with a 3-2 victory to move within a game of the second wild card in the American League.
NY Yankees at Boston 7:10 PM ET
The Boston Red Sox aren't conceding the American League East title just yet after unleashing a historic offensive performance and will try to shave another game off New York's big lead when they host the Yankees on Friday in the second contest of their four-game series. Boston is 3-1 in a stretch of 14 straight games against New York and Tampa Bay after Thursday's 19-3 victory marked the most runs it has ever scored against the Yankees.
Arizona at Miami 7:10 PM ET
If the Arizona Diamondbacks want to mount a serious charge at the National League wild card leading into the trade deadline, taking advantage of seven straight games against two of the worst teams in baseball is probably a necessity. The Diamondbacks handled their business early this week by winning a series against Baltimore and turn their attention to another lackluster opponent beginning Friday when they visit Miami for the first of four versus the Marlins.
Pittsburgh at NY Mets 7:10 PM ET
With an eye toward the approaching trade deadline, the New York Mets will put one of their trade chips on display Friday in the opener of a three-game series with the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates. Right-hander Zack Wheeler is scheduled to come off the injured list to make the start in what the organization hopes is a showcase for potential suitors.
Minnesota at Chi. White Sox 8:10 PM ET
Nelson Cruz looks to continue his impressive home-run stretch when the Minnesota Twins visit the Chicago White Sox on Friday for the second contest of their four-game series. Cruz recorded the first three-homer performance of his career in Thursday's 10-3 victory, giving him six blasts in his last four games and eight in his last nine.
Chi. Cubs at Milwaukee 8:10 PM ET
The Chicago Cubs showed plenty of mettle in avoiding a sweep in their last series and, as a result, find themselves holding onto a share of the lead in National League Central. After a day off, the Cubs will get a chance to put some distance between themselves and one of their closest competitors starting Friday when they visit the Milwaukee Brewers, who sit two games out of the division lead.
Houston at St. Louis 8:15 PM ET
The Houston Astros are in control of the American League West and are about to receive a huge boost in their pursuit of a fourth consecutive division title. Shortstop Carlos Correa is expected to return to the lineup for the first time in two months when the Astros open a three-game interleague series at the surging St. Louis Cardinals on Friday night.
Cleveland at Kansas City 8:15 PM ET
It took an extra five innings on Thursday, but the Cleveland Indians managed to continue their surge since losing their first two games following the All-Star break. The Indians vie for their 11th win in 13 games when they visit the Kansas City Royals on Friday for the second contest of their four-game series.
Baltimore at LA Angels 10:07 PM ET
Following a wild series opener that spilled into the early morning hours, the Los Angeles Angels continue their four-game set against the visiting Baltimore Orioles on Friday. Jonathan Villar delivered a two-run homer with two outs in the 16th inning to give the Orioles a 10-8 victory on Thursday in a game that lasted 6 hours, 18 minutes.
Texas at Oakland 10:07 PM ET
The Oakland Athletics rolled through the first three weeks of July but have run into a wall of late, losing four of their last five contests. Oakland looks to right the ship on Friday as it hosts the Texas Rangers for the second contest of their four-game series.
San Francisco at San Diego 10:10 PM ET
The San Francisco Giants appeared left for dead in the playoff chase at the end of last month, but they have turned things around by winning 16 of 20 in July, a stretch that began with a three-game sweep in San Diego. San Francisco looks to continue its drive for a wild-card spot when it visits the Padres in the opener of a three-game set on Friday night.
Detroit at Seattle 10:10 PM ET
The Seattle Mariners have won consecutive games for the first time in a month as they enter Friday's contest against the visiting Detroit Tigers. Seattle cruised to a 10-2 victory over Detroit in the opener of the four-game series for just its sixth win in 22 contests.
