July 22, 2019
Colorado at Washington 7:05 PM ET
The Washington Nationals missed out on a golden opportunity to gain ground in the National League East over the weekend, remaining 6 1/2 games behind Atlanta after splitting their four-game series. Washington hopes to at least strengthen its hold on the top wild-card spot when it begins a 10-game homestand Monday with the first of four contests against the Colorado Rockies.
St. Louis at Pittsburgh 7:05 PM ET
The National League Central is the tightest division in baseball, with three teams within 2 1/2 games of the lead -- and the St. Louis Cardinals are right in the hunt. The Cardinals will try to keep moving up at the expense of another divisional foe when they visit the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday for the opener of a four-game series.
Cleveland at Toronto 7:07 PM ET
The Cleveland Indians won seven of 10 games on the first homestand after the All-Star break and look to continue their ascent in the standings when they begin a seven-game road trip with the first of three against the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday. The Indians have won 13 of their last 16 contests to pull within three games of first-place Minnesota in the American League Central after edging Kansas City 5-4 on Sunday.
Boston at Tampa Bay 7:10 PM ET
The Boston Red Sox had a chance to pile up some wins against the bottom team in the American League East ahead of a brutal stretch versus the top two clubs in the division, but they failed to take full advantage of the opportunity. The Red Sox are slumping as they visit the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday for the start of a three-game series and the beginning of a stretch with 14 straight against the Rays and the New York Yankees.
Oakland at Houston 8:10 PM ET
Michael Brantley and Yuli Gurriel are enjoying torrid stretches at the plate as the Houston Astros carry a five-game winning streak into Monday's opener of a three-game series versus the visiting Oakland Athletics. Brantley recorded his second straight three-hit performance in Houston's 5-3 victory over Texas while Gurriel extended his hitting streak to 10 contests.
Miami at Chi. White Sox 8:10 PM ET
The Chicago White Sox rebounded a bit in the third stop of a long road trip following the All-Star break and look to continue their success at home when they host the Miami Marlins on Monday to begin a three-game interleague set. The White Sox, who are 25-20 at home, opened the second half with a season-high seven-game losing streak to start their trek before winning two of three at Tampa Bay over the weekend.
NY Yankees at Minnesota 8:10 PM ET
The New York Yankees and Minnesota Twins find themselves atop their respective divisions, although the former is enjoying a sizable nine-game lead over their closest rival while the latter is clinging to a three-game edge. The Yankees and Twins can add to their cushions at the other's expense on Monday when they open a three-game series at Target Field.
Cincinnati at Milwaukee 8:10 PM ET
Three consecutive losses to the Cincinnati Reds at the beginning of this month cost the Milwaukee Brewers the top spot in the National League Central. The Brewers hope they can begin repaying the favor Monday when they host the opener of a three-game set against the Reds.
Baltimore at Arizona 9:40 PM ET
The Baltimore Orioles have held the distinction of owning the major league's worst pitching staff for most of the season, making what they did against two potential playoff teams over the last four games all the more remarkable. The Orioles begin a nine-game road trip feeling good about themselves Monday when they visit Arizona for the first of three games against the Diamondbacks.
Chi. Cubs at San Francisco 9:45 PM ET
The San Francisco Giants seem to have something special brewing and baseball's hottest team will try to keep their surge alive when they host the Chicago Cubs on Monday in the opener of a three-game series. Mike Yastrzemski's walk-off home run in the 12th inning lifted the Giants to a 3-2 win over the New York Mets on Sunday.
Texas at Seattle 10:10 PM ET
The Texas Rangers have to hope that a visit to the worst team in their division can help shake them out of a prolonged funk. They have that opportunity Monday when they carry a seven-game slide into the opener of a three-game series at the Seattle Mariners.
