Preview Roundups
July 15, 2019
San Francisco at Colorado 2:10 PM ET
The San Francisco Giants have a bit of pep in their step after winning three straight road series and eight of 10 games overall, but the club has often stumbled when visiting the Colorado Rockies. The Giants have lost 19 of their last 22 games at Coors Field entering Monday's doubleheader against the Rockies.
Tampa Bay at NY Yankees 7:05 PM ET
The Tampa Bay Rays still hope to track down the New York Yankees in the American League East and performing well in a four-game series this week would put them in a much better position. The Rays will try to knock one game off their deficit in the American League East when they visit the Yankees on Monday in the opener of the set.
LA Dodgers at Philadelphia 7:05 PM ET
When the Philadelphia Phillies and Los Angeles Dodgers first met in late May, they owned the top two records in the National League. As the two teams square off again in Philadelphia in the opener of a four-game set on Monday, the Phillies find themselves barely hanging on for a wild-card spot while the Dodgers are the only team in the majors with at least 60 wins.
Toronto at Boston 7:10 PM ET
The Boston Red Sox look to make up some ground in the race for an American League playoff berth and improve their disappointing home record when they host the Toronto Blue Jays for the first of four games on Monday night. The Red Sox, who are 21-24 at home, dropped two of three to the major league-best Los Angeles Dodgers after Sunday’s 7-4 loss in 12 innings, falling 2 1/2 games out of the AL’s second wild card.
Detroit at Cleveland 7:10 PM ET
The Cleveland Indians looks to make up ground in the race for a playoff spot as they begin a stretch of 14 contests against teams near the bottom of the American League standings, starting with the first of four games against the visiting Detroit Tigers on Monday night. The Indians, who also play Toronto and Kansas City over the next two weeks, salvaged the finale of their series with AL Central-leading Minnesota on Sunday with a 4-3 victory and trail the Twins by 6 1/2 games.
Cincinnati at Chi. Cubs 8:05 PM ET
The Chicago Cubs were looking for a hot streak coming out of the All-Star break to cement their position atop the National League Central and ripped off a three-game sweep over the weekend. The Cincinnati Reds, who visit the Cubs for the opener of a three-game set on Monday, need every win they can get as they attempt to stay in the race.
Atlanta at Milwaukee 8:10 PM ET
The Milwaukee Brewers have just over two weeks to acquire help for their beleaguered bullpen and open a three-game home series Monday against the Atlanta Braves after a dispiriting weekend. Milwaukee lost two of three games to San Francisco at home as its relievers allowed 16 earned runs on 19 hits in 12 innings, featuring a blown save by Josh Hader on Friday and a six-run seventh Sunday as the Brewers slid 2 1/2 games behind the Chicago Cubs in the National League Central.
Pittsburgh at St. Louis 8:15 PM ET
The St. Louis Cardinals have won two in a row and five of their last eight to keep pace in the congested National League Central while a three-game skid has the Pittsburgh Pirates inching closer to the back of the line. The Cardinals aim to keep the Pirates winless since the All-Star break when the clubs open a three-game series in St. Louis on Monday.
Chi. White Sox at Kansas City 8:15 PM ET
The Chicago White Sox hoped to emerge from the All-Star break with enough of a push to remain factors in the American League wild-card race. Instead, the White Sox were swept over the weekend in Oakland and will have to hit the reset button when they begin a four-game series at the Kansas City Royals on Monday.
San Francisco at Colorado 8:40 PM ET
The San Francisco Giants have a bit of pep in their step after winning three straight road series and eight of 10 games overall, but the club has often stumbled when visiting the Colorado Rockies. The Giants have lost 19 of their last 22 games at Coors Field entering Monday's doubleheader against the Rockies.
Houston at LA Angels 10:07 PM ET
The Los Angeles Angels could be without superstar Mike Trout on Monday when they begin a four-game series with the visiting Houston Astros. Trout left Sunday's 6-3 win over Seattle with calf tightness, leaving a potential gigantic hole for an Angels club that took all three from the Mariners and is 6-3 since the tragic loss of pitcher Tyler Skaggs.
