Miami at Washington 11:05 AM ET
The Washington Nationals were a season-worst 12 games under .500 and fading fast entering a four-game set with the Miami Marlins on May 24. The Nationals won three of four in that series to ignite a stretch in which they have gone 25-10, and they look to continue that momentum when they go for a three-game sweep of the visiting Marlins on Thursday morning.
Cleveland at Kansas City 1:15 PM ET
Carlos Santana is seeing the ball well as the Cleveland Indians eye a three-game sweep of the host Kansas City Royals on Thursday afternoon. Santana extended his on-base streak to a career-high 26 games - the longest active run in the majors - and continued his home-run assault on Kansas City in Wednesday's 4-0 victory that was Cleveland's third straight and 18th in 26 contests.
Detroit at Chi. White Sox 2:10 PM ET
The Chicago White Sox can reach the .500 mark on Thursday afternoon as they attempt to complete a three-game sweep of the visiting Detroit Tigers. Chicago has won five of its last six contests after sweeping the first of three doubleheaders this season between the American League Central rivals.
Milwaukee at Cincinnati 2:10 PM ET
The Cincinnati Reds have won 10 of their last 16 contests to creep within 4 1/2 games of the National League Central-leading Milwaukee Brewers. The Reds aim to record their third straight win on Thursday afternoon when they close their four-game series against their division rival at Great American Ball Park.
Chi. Cubs at Pittsburgh 4:05 PM ET
Josh Bell and the Pittsburgh Pirates have been landing haymaker after haymaker against the Chicago Cubs over the first three contests of their four-game series. Bell has four homers in that stretch for the Pirates, who will look to deliver the knockout blow to the Cubs on Thursday in Pittsburgh.
Minnesota at Oakland 4:07 PM ET
The Minnesota Twins avoided their first three-game losing streak of the season and now look to break even on their six-game road trip when they visit the Oakland Athletics on Thursday afternoon for the rubber match of their three-game series. Mitch Garver delivered his second RBI single of the contest in the 12th inning as Minnesota rallied from a three-run deficit to post a 4-3 victory on Wednesday.
St. Louis at Seattle 4:10 PM ET
The St. Louis Cardinals used a five-run ninth inning to win the middle contest of the series and now look to claim the three-game set when they visit the Seattle Mariners on Thursday afternoon. St. Louis was blanked until the ninth on Wednesday, but Tommy Edman's three-run homer was the decisive blow in a 5-2 comeback win.
NY Yankees at Tampa Bay 5:10 PM ET
The New York Yankees have an opportunity to blow open the American League East race when they visit the Tampa Bay Rays for a four-game set that begins Thursday. New York rolls into its final series before the All-Star break with a 6 1/2-game lead over Tampa Bay and is 14-2 in its last 16 after sweeping two from Boston in London and splitting a pair with the crosstown Mets in the Subway Series.
Boston at Toronto 7:07 PM ET
The Boston Red Sox continue to look nothing like the club that rolled to a World Series championship a year ago, falling 11 games behind the first-place New York Yankees in the American League East. The Red Sox will look to avoid a second series loss to Toronto in under two weeks when they wrap up a three-game set with the host Blue Jays on Thursday night.
Philadelphia at Atlanta 7:20 PM ET
Turns out the Atlanta Braves needed one game in July before firing up the offense that dominated in June, and head into Thursday’s home series finale against the Philadelphia Phillies looking for a series win after another big offensive performance. The Braves extended their National League East lead over the Phillies to 5½ games with Wednesday’s 9-2 victory, getting three-run homers from Josh Donaldson and Austin Riley to win for the 21st time in their past 30 games.
LA Angels at Texas 8:05 PM ET
The Los Angeles Angels have responded with back-to-back stellar efforts following the death of Tyler Skaggs, and they look to complete a three-game sweep of the host Texas Rangers on Thursday. The series was shortened from four to three games when Skaggs tragically passed away on Monday, and Los Angeles has overcome the adversity with 9-4 and 6-2 victories.
San Diego at LA Dodgers 9:10 PM ET
The All-Star break can’t come soon enough for the San Diego Padres, who could use a few days to regroup following a disappointing first half. Before heading out on break, San Diego begins a four-game series on Thursday against the host Los Angeles Dodgers, who have won three in a row and hold a commanding lead in the National League West.
