LA Angels at Tampa Bay 1:10 PM ET
The Tampa Bay Rays hope to ride the momentum from an inspiring comeback victory when they host the Los Angeles Angels for the third of a four-game series Saturday afternoon. The Rays had lost three in a row and trailed 4-0 through 5 1/2 frames Friday before scoring nine times combined in the sixth and seventh innings en route to a 9-4 win while going 8-for-16 with runners in scoring position.
Arizona at Washington 4:05 PM ET
Although the Washington Nationals are five games under .500, they have the ability to go on a sustained run due to the 1-2 punch at the top of their rotation. After ace Max Scherzer cooled off the Arizona Diamondbacks, Stephen Strasburg will take the mound in search of his eighth win Saturday afternoon when the teams resume their four-game set at Nationals Park.
Milwaukee at San Francisco 4:05 PM ET
After winning the series opener with a rare power surge, the San Francisco Giants look to carry the momentum into Saturday afternoon’s contest against the visiting Milwaukee Brewers. The Giants began the three-game set ranked 14th in the National League in home runs (60) but went deep three times in Friday’s 5-3 victory.
Boston at Baltimore 4:05 PM ET
Ace left-hander Chris Sale has managed to win only two games this season for the Boston Red Sox, who have failed to produce more than four runs in 11 of his 14 starts. That dearth of offensive production could change when Sale takes the mound for the second of a three-game series at the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday afternoon as Boston goes for its fourth straight victory.
Toronto at Houston 4:10 PM ET
Yordan Alvarez has logged only 13 at-bats and been in the majors for less than a week, yet he's already etched his name into the Houston Astros' record books. The 21-year-old rookie, who became the first Astro to hit a home run in three of his first four big-league games in the series opener, looks to continue the torrid start to his pro career Saturday when Houston hosts the second of three games against the Toronto Blue Jays.
Pittsburgh at Miami 6:10 PM ET
The Pittsburgh Pirates took out their frustrations on the Miami Marlins' pitching staff in the opener of a three-game series Friday night. The Pirates will try to build off the series-opening rout when the teams continue their weekend set Saturday.
Cleveland at Detroit 6:10 PM ET
Jake Bauers responded to the talk of sending him to the minor leagues by hitting for the cycle in the series opener and looks to get on a roll when his Cleveland Indians visit the Detroit Tigers on Saturday. Bauers, who was 4-for-29 in eight games coming in to drop his average to .209, capped his special night with a two-run homer in the eighth inning and finished 4-for-5 with four RBIs in Friday’s 13-4 victory.
St. Louis at NY Mets 7:10 PM ET
The St. Louis Cardinals managed to earn two wins over the New York Mets in one day on Friday, and it only took 10 innings. The Cardinals will try to clinch a win in the four-game set when they visit the Mets on Saturday.
Kansas City at Minnesota 7:10 PM ET
The Minnesota Twins attempt to clinch their third consecutive series victory when they host the Kansas City Royals on Saturday for the middle contest of their three-game set. Minnesota improved to 3-1 on its nine-game homestand with a 2-0 triumph in Friday's series opener.
NY Yankees at Chi. White Sox 7:10 PM ET
The New York Yankees are suddenly trying to find a way to get outs as they struggle to stay with the Tampa Bay Rays atop the American League East. The Yankees will try to snap a three-game slide and cut down on the runs allowed when they visit the Chicago White Sox for the third of a four-game series on Sunday.
Texas at Cincinnati 7:10 PM ET
While the Texas Rangers find themselves squarely in the thick of the American League playoff race thanks to their strong play over the last month, it's been a season to forget for Rougned Odor. However, the 25-year-old Venezuelan has started showing signs of life at the plate recently and is coming off a memorable effort in a series-opening win in Cincinnati - a performance he'll try to carry over into Saturday when the Rangers continue their three-game set with the Reds.
Philadelphia at Atlanta 7:20 PM ET
Brian McCann grew up in the Atlanta suburbs, began his career catching for the Braves for nine seasons, and returned home last winter to help the franchise in its return to prominence. McCann and the Braves enter Saturday’s middle contest against the Philadelphia Phillies looking to wrap up a series victory after he lifted a two-run single in the bottom of the ninth Friday, locking up a 9-8 triumph that extended Atlanta’s lead over the Phillies in the NL East to 2 1/2 games.
San Diego at Colorado 8:10 PM ET
The San Diego Padres were facing their sixth consecutive loss when they trailed by six runs with three outs to go on Friday before rallying for an improbable victory. San Diego will aim to ride the momentum of the memorable 16-12, 12-inning triumph when it visits the Colorado Rockies on Saturday for the third contest of their four-game series.
Seattle at Oakland 9:07 PM ET
The Seattle Mariners have alternated wins and losses over the first seven contests of their nine-game road trip. They hope to break that trend on Saturday, when they visit the Oakland Athletics for the middle contest of their three-game series.
Chi. Cubs at LA Dodgers 9:10 PM ET
Yu Darvish returns to the mound on which he suffered through a miserable Game 7 of the 2017 World Series when the Chicago Cubs visit the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday for the third contest of their four-game series. Darvish, then with the Dodgers, was hammered for five runs in 1 2/3 innings of a 5-1 loss to Houston and indicated that he expects to be booed by the fans in his return to Dodger Stadium.
