Defenseman Brandon Montour scored twice and Chandler Stephenson added a goal and two assists as the Seattle Kraken defeated the visiting San Jose Sharks 6-2 on Thursday.
Oliver Bjorkstrand and Eeli Tolvanen had a goal and an assist apiece and Jaden Schwartz also tallied for the Kraken, who snapped a two-game losing streak. Goaltender Joey Daccord made 26 saves.
Carl Grundstrom and Tyler Toffoli scored for the Sharks, who lost for the seventh time in their past eight games.
San Jose goalie Yaroslav Askarov was pulled 5:58 into the second period after allowing four goals on 11 shots. Alexandar Georgiev stopped 20 of 22 shots the rest of the way as the Sharks yielded six or more goals for the fifth time in their past six outings.
After a 1-1 first period, the Kraken scored on their first three shots of second to chase Askarov.
Bjorkstrand batted the puck out of midair at 2:03 to break the tie after Vince Dunn's shot from the top of the left faceoff circle deflected off Stephenson's left calf.
Montour tallied 51 seconds later on a wrist shot from the high slot that rang in off the left post. The play started when Shane Wright stole a pass in San Jose's defensive end.
Schwartz scored on a breakaway just after coming out of the penalty box at 5:58, sliding the puck between Askarov's pads after taking a pass from Jamie Oleksiak. It was Schwartz's team-leading 18th goal of the season.
Montour scored on a slap shot from the left faceoff dot on a two-man advantage at 7:52 to make it 5-1.
Toffoli tallied at 8:06 of the third, lifting a wrist shot over Daccord from the low slot, assisted by rookie Macklin Celebrini.
Tolvanen extended his goal streak to four games on a wrister from the high slot at 12:18 to cap the scoring.
Stephenson opened the scoring at 3:55 of the first period on a breakaway after taking a stretch pass from Bjorkstrand.
Grundstrom inadvertently tied it at 17:55 as his pass across the top of the crease for Will Smith deflected off the left skate of Wright and ended up in the net. Grundstrom joined the lineup with former Kraken Alexander Wennberg out due to an upper-body injury.
