Philadelphia opened the scoring at 2:11 of the first on Sanheim's tip-in.

Crosby tied it at 9:38 off a rebound, and Rust gave the Penguins a 2-1 lead on a tip-in at the 17:15 mark.

Foerster tied it 55 seconds into the second. On his backhand, he tucked the puck inside the right post.

On a power play at 11:15 of the second, Rust gave Pittsburgh a 3-2 lead on a snap shot from above the right hash marks.

Also on a power play, Bemstrom -- making his Penguins debut -- popped a shot off Petersen's right pad at 13:38 of the second to increase it to 4-2.

Sanheim struck again at 16:33 of the second from the right edge of the slot to cut it to 4-3.

Laughton scored short-handed 1:03 later, tying the game when he deposited a rebound after Noah Cates' wraparound attempt.

At 6:41 of the third, and with the Penguins short-handed, O'Connor swept a sharp-angle shot inside the right post to make it 5-4, and Rakell scored on a mirror shot inside the left post at 8:38.

York's goal from above the left hash marks at 10:10 of the third cut the Flyers' deficit to 6-5. But Letang's shot from the right point at 15:13 made it 7-5, before Foerster's power-play goal with 2:03 left closed the scoring.
