Conor Garland had two goals and an assist and the Vancouver Canucks defeated the visiting Toronto Maple Leafs 6-4 on Saturday night.
Nils Hoglander also scored twice, both in the first six minutes of the game, for the Canucks. J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson each added a goal and an assist. Quinn Hughes added three assists and Teddy Blueger had two assists.
Thatcher Demko made 42 saves in the win.
William Nylander scored twice for the Maple Leafs. Jake McCabe and Mitchell Marner also scored. Morgan Rielly added two assists.
Martin Jones stopped 15 shots for the Maple Leafs, who have lost five of six.
Hoglander fired a backhand shot from a scramble in front of the net at 3:06 of the first period to give the Canucks a 1-0 lead.
Hoglander scored his 14th goal of the season at the six-minute mark of the first period.
Garland scored his seventh goal of the season at 12:58, converting Blueger's pass from behind the net.
Each team had nine shots on goal in the first period.
Nylander scored on a wrist shot from the left wing at 4:53 of the second period to trim the Leafs' deficit to 3-1.
Marner's precise pass set up McCabe's third goal of the season from close range at 7:26 of the second to pull Toronto closer.
Nylander scored his 200th career NHL goal 53 seconds later on a shot that fooled Demko and tied the score.
Vancouver regained the lead at 19 minutes of the second when Garland stuffed in his own rebound.
Toronto led 27-15 in shots on goal after two periods.
Marner scored his 20th goal of the season at 3:13 of the third period on a short-handed breakaway to tie the score again.
Miller scored his 21st goal of the season at 7:11 of the third on a deflection of Hughes' shot on a power play to give the Canucks a 5-4 lead.
Pettersson scored his 25th goal of the season at 10:42 of the third during a power play to cap the scoring.
