Mitchell Marner scored two goals and added two assists as the Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the visiting San Jose Sharks 7-1 on Tuesday night.
The Sharks have lost 12 consecutive games, all in regulation.
Jake McCabe added a goal and two assists and Morgan Rielly had a goal and an assist for the Maple Leafs, who have won four in a row. Auston Matthews, Pontus Holmberg and Nicholas Robertson also scored for Toronto. William Nylander, who signed an eight-year, $92 million contract extension on Monday, contributed three assists.
Martin Jones made 22 saves in the win.
Henry Thrun scored the Sharks' lone goal.
Kaapo Kahkonen allowed four goals on 20 shots for San Jose before being replaced by Mackenzie Blackwood early in the second. Blackwood made 22 saves.
Nylander's pass into the low slot set up Rielly's fifth goal of the season at 16:48 of the first period.
Matthews scored his 31st goal of the season on a sharp-angled shot from the right faceoff circle at 17:22 of the first during a power play. Alexander Barabanov was off the ice for holding.
Toronto led 16-5 in shots on goal after one period.
Marner scored when he redirected McCabe's shot at 54 seconds of the second period.
Holmberg scored his first of the season with a one-handed flick shot at 2:06 of the second. Blackwood took over in goal for San Jose.
Thrun scored his first career NHL goal at 7:21 of the second on a pass from Mikael Granlund during a power play. Simon Benoit was off the ice for hooking.
Toronto had a 35-13 advantage in shots on goal after the second period.
McCabe scored his second goal of the season at 1:27 of the third period.
The Maple Leafs scored twice during a power play with Scott Sabourin serving a double minor for high-sticking.
Marner scored his 17th goal of the season at four minutes of the third and Robertson scored his sixth of the season at 5:54.
The Maple Leafs defeated the Sharks 4-1 on Saturday at San Jose.
Noah Gregor (illness) did not play for Toronto.
