John Klingberg scored at 2:13 of overtime to lift the Dallas Stars to a 4-3 win against the visiting Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday night.
Joe Pavelski had two goals and two assists, Roope Hintz had three assists, and Jake Oettinger made 20 saves for the Stars, who ended a five-game losing streak.
Alex DeBrincat, Dylan Strome and Dominik Kubalik scored, and Kevin Lankinen made 35 saves for the Blackhawks, who have lost two in a row for the first time since the first week of November.
Kubalik scored at 11:55 of the third period to tie the score 3-3 and allow the game to go to overtime.
Pavelski scored twice during a five-minute interference penalty and game misconduct on Blackhawks right wing Brett Connolly at 3:02 of the first period.
Connolly collided with Stars forward Tanner Kero along the boards, leaving Kero motionless on the ice before he was taken off on a stretcher.
The Stars later announced that Kero was "conscious, alert and responsive" and was transported to a local hospital for precautionary measures and evaluation.
Pavelski scored the first goal when his centering pass went off the skate of Chicago defenseman Seth Jones and into the net for a 1-0 lead at 5:16.
Pavelski scored again with 38 seconds left on the power play when he redirected a pass from Hintz for a 2-0 lead.
The Stars were outshooting the Blackhawks 14-1 when Oettinger made a left-pad save on Strome off a 2-on-1 at 15:16 of the first period, the first shot by Chicago since 2:50.
Dallas ultimately outshot the Blackhawks 18-4 in the opening period.
DeBrincat scored on a backdoor pass to make it 2-1 at 5:04 of the second period, but Jason Robertson scored 14 seconds later to re-establish a two-goal lead for the Stars at 3-1.
Dallas defenseman Jani Hakanpaa broke his stick on a slap shot, leading to a goal by Strome off a 2-on-1 to make it 3-2 at 6:47 of the second period.
