Lucas Raymond had a hat trick in his sixth NHL game and the visiting Detroit Red Wings topped the winless Chicago Blackhawks 6-3 on Sunday.
The 19-year-old Raymond, the team's first-round pick last year, added an assist.
Tyler Bertuzzi had a goal and two assists and Dylan Larkin supplied three assists. Carter Rowney, signed as a free agent during the offseason after playing three seasons with Anaheim, scored his first Red Wings goal. Vladislav Namestnikov also scored for Detroit, while Alex Nedeljkovic made 32 saves.
Tyler Johnson, Dominik Kubalik and Henrik Borgstrom scored for Chicago and Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 31 shots.
The game was tied at 1-1 after the first period.
Raymond scored his first goal of the game at 5:41, beating Fleury with a low shot off a Bertuzzi pass from the boards.
Chicago tied it at 12:35 of the period as Johnson outmuscled defenseman Danny DeKeyser for the puck and beat Nedeljkovic through the five-hole. Jonathan Toews and Jake McCabe were credited with assists.
Detroit grabbed a 5-2 lead during an eventful second period.
Rowney backhanded a rebound of a Michael Rasmussen shot past Fleury at 4:22. Namestnikov then tapped in a rebound of a Mitchell Stephens shot at 7:33 to give Detroit a 3-1 lead.
Bertuzzi was credited with his sixth goal of the season after the puck bounced off his skate and then deflected off a defenseman's skate past Fleury.
With Marc Staal in the penalty box, Kubalik fired in a shot from the point to cut the Red Wings' lead to 4-2. Seth Jones and Jonathan Toews assisted on the power-play goal at 12:10.
Once again, the Wings scored off a rebound before the period ended. Raymond's second goal of the game came off a Larkin shot. Bertuzzi also had an assist.
Less than two minutes into the third period, Borgstrom scored in front to cut the Wings' lead to 5-3.
Raymond notched the hat trick seven minutes into the third on a power play. He one-timed a pass from Larkin past Fleury's stick.
