Malcolm Subban stopped 39 shots during regulation and overtime and denied all three shots during a shootout as the Chicago Blackhawks held on for a 4-3 win over the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning on Friday night.

Subban earned the No. 1 star of the game for his efforts, which included 34 saves during regulation and five in overtime. Alex DeBrincat scored twice for Chicago and Dominik Kubalik scored once. Patrick Kane and Adam Boqvist notched two assists apiece.

Anthony Cirelli, Alex Killorn and Ryan McDonagh scored for the Lightning, who saw their six-game winning streak end. Killorn added an assist, and Ondrej Palat had two helpers.

Chicago's Philipp Kurashev was the only player to score during the shootout.

McDonagh broke a 2-2 tie by scoring with 17:40 to go in the third period. Subban stopped an initial attempt by Killorn, but McDonagh capitalized on the rebound for his second goal of the season and his first since Feb. 3 against the Detroit Red Wings.

The Blackhawks pulled even at 3 with 14 minutes remaining. Kubalik stood to the right side of the crease and knocked in a loose puck for his third goal in the past four games, his ninth of the season.

Tampa Bay opened the scoring 2:51 into the first period. Seconds after missing on a backhand attempt, Cirelli tracked down a loose puck in front of the net and punched in a shot for his seventh goal of the season and his third in the past four games.

The Lightning increased their lead to 2-0 on a power-play goal at 10:27 of the opening period. For the second game in a row, Killorn redirected a shot from Victor Hedman into the back of the net. It was his fifth goal of the season.

Chicago cut the deficit to 2-1 less than three minutes later on the power play. DeBrincat fired a wrist shot from the left circle for his 100th career goal.

DeBrincat struck yet again, this time for his team-leading 14th of the season, with 12:42 to go in the second period to even the score at 2. He took a pass from Kane and blasted a one-timer past Curtis McElhinney (24 saves).
