Adrian Kempe scored with 3:02 left in overtime to lift the Los Angeles Kings to a 2-1 win against the visiting New Jersey Devils on Saturday afternoon.

Dustin Brown also scored, and Jonathan Quick made 32 saves for the Kings, who improved to 5-2-1 in their past eight games.

Jesper Bratt scored, and Mackenzie Blackwood made 36 saves for the Devils, who are 3-0-2 in their past five games and 8-3-5 in their past 16.

Blackwood had 37 saves in a 3-0 win against visiting Los Angeles on Feb. 8.

The Devils took a 1-0 lead at 7:19 of the first period.

Nikita Gusev took a drop pass just inside the blue line and skated down the left side of the Los Angeles zone before cutting into the slot. He drew the defense to him before sliding a pass in the right circle to Bratt, who scored on the one-timer before Quick could slide over.

Brown tied it 1-1 at 13:14 of the second period, the Kings' first goal in five periods against Blackwood and the Devils this season.

The play began with Kings forward Anze Kopitar forcing a turnover on New Jersey defenseman Damon Severson. Alex Iafallo took possession of the puck for Los Angeles and gave it to Brown, who scored off a give-and-go with Kopitar.

Quick made back-to-back spectacular saves on Gusev at 11:15 of the third period and a follow-up shot by Pavel Zacha two seconds later to keep the score tied.

The Kings recalled defenseman Mikey Anderson from Ontario of the American Hockey League on Friday and he made his NHL debut, playing 18:59 with three hits and a blocked shot.

Anderson's brother, Joey, plays right wing for the Devils, marking the third time this season that a member of the Devils played against his brother for the first time in their NHL careers.

The Kings improved to 1-22-1 when trailing at the end of the first period this season.
