Josh Archibald scored his first two goals of the season, the second on a breakaway midway through the third period, and the Arizona Coyotes broke a four-game losing streak with a 4-3 comeback victory over the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday in St. Paul, Minn.
The Coyotes, who had only one shot on goal in the second period, scored three goals in the first nine minutes of the third period, two by Archibald and one by Michael Grabner, to overcome a 3-1 deficit.
Zach Parise scored his fourth goal in the past five games and Jared Spurgeon had three assists for the Wild, who had a two-game winning streak broken. Charlie Coyle and Jason Zucker also had goals for the Wild, who are 8-3-2 at home.
Lawson Crouse had a goal and an assist and Archibald also had his first assist of the season for the Coyotes, who had lost eight of 10, including the last four of a five-game homestand on Sunday. They acquired wing Nick Schmaltz after Sunday's game in an attempt to add a scoring option. Schmaltz had three shots in 19 minutes Tuesday.
The Coyotes had not scored more than two goals since a 4-1 victory at Washington on Nov. 11. They have 12 goals in their past seven games and have 57 goals overall, the second-lowest total in the league.
Matt Dumba, who assisted on Parise's goal, has a point in a career-high seven straight games, tying Ryan Suter's franchise record points streak for a defenseman. Dumba has five goals and five assists during the streak.
Coyotes goalie Adin Hill had five saves after replacing Antti Raanta at the start of the third period. Raanta, who stopped 17 of the 20 shots he faced, has given up 14 goals in seven-plus periods since returning from an eight-game absence because of a lower body injury. He left Tuesday's game after tweaking the injury.
Wild goalie Devan Dubnyk was hardly challenged but saved only 10 of the 14 shots he faced. He was the winner when the Wild beat the Coyotes 2-1 at home earlier this season.
Dubnyk was pulled with 2:03 remaining, but the Wild did not get a good scoring opportunity the rest of the way.
