Oilers 4, Canadiens 3: Defenseman Jeff Petry and Ryan Jones scored goals 1:58 apart midway through the third period to lift visiting Edmonton over Montreal.

Ales Hemsky and defenseman Ladislav Smid also scored for the Oilers, who ended a six-game road trip with their second straight victory. Mark Arcobello, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Jordan Eberle all had a pair of assists while goaltender Devan Dubnyk made 29 saves.

Tomas Plekanec and Brendan Gallagher scored in the first period to stake the Canadiens to a 2-0 lead, but Montreal was outshot 24-18 in the final 40 minutes. Carey Price stopped 28 shots and captain Brian Gionta added his second goal of the season in the final seconds.

Petry snapped the 2-2 tie 7:59 into the third period, finishing a 2-on-1 with Nugent-Hopkins with a one-timer along the ice. Jones scooped home a rebound from David Perron's shot to extend Edmonton’s advantage at 9:57.

Hemsky got Edmonton on the board with a smooth shot from the slot that fooled Price 12:50 into the second period. Smid tied the game on a rebound chance 2:47 later for his first goal since March 30.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Edmonton announced that LW Taylor Hall could be out for a month with a knee injury suffered on the weekend. … Montreal C Lars Eller compared the Oilers to a junior team prior to the game, citing their lack of organization and tendency to allow odd-man rushes. … Arcobello, 25, has 10 assists in 11 career games.
