Ducks 3, Oilers 1: Kyle Palmieri scored late in the second period as visiting Anaheim snapped a four-game winless streak to inch closer to the Pacific Division title.

Corey Perry added a goal in the third period and defenseman Cam Fowler scored his first on a power play in the opening session. Jonas Hiller made 27 saves for the Ducks, who would have clinched their first Pacific Division title since 2007 but Los Angeles skated to a 4-3 overtime win over Dallas later on Sunday.

Taylor Hall scored his second goal in as many games for the Oilers, who were eliminated from playoff contention for the seventh consecutive season after falling for the seventh time in eight outings. Devan Dubnyk stopped 27 shots.

Palmieri collected the puck and put it into an open net after his pass on a 2-on-1 was blocked by Edmonton defenseman Ladislav Smid with 57 seconds left in the second period. Midway through the third, Perry tapped a centering feed from captain Ryan Getzlaf around Dubnyk on the doorstep to take the team lead with his 15th goal.

Hall elected to shoot on a 2-on-1 one minute into the contest and slid the puck between Hiller’s pads. Fowler chipped a rebound over Dubnyk in the dying seconds of the first period with Mike Brown serving a high-sticking penalty to forge a tie.
