Mark Olver had a goal and two assists while Ryan O’Reilly and captain Gabriel Landeskog also scored for the Avalanche, who trailed 2-0 after one period and 3-2 after two. Kobasew also assisted on Olver’s goal for a two-point effort and Semyon Varlamov made 29 saves for his first win in five starts.

Jaromir Jagr snapped a four-game point drought with a goal and two assists for Dallas, which has one win in its last six games (1-4-1). Ray Whitney and defenseman Trevor Daley also scored while Lehtonen stopped 30 shots.

Jagr and Daley established the Stars’ lead in the first period, but Olver got Colorado on the board 8:48 into the second, pouncing on a rebound off the end boards. Landeskog knotted the contest nearly five minutes later, collecting his own rebound for his second short-handed goal in as many games.

With just over four minutes left in the period, Whitney circled into the slot from behind the net and fired a backhand shot past a sprawling Varlamov to regain the lead for Dallas. O’Reilly scored on a rush at 6:20 of the third to tie the game at 3-3, beating Lehtonen with a wrist shot.
