Dallas Stars right wing Loui Eriksson collected two goals and two assists and Philadelphia Flyers stud Danny Briere and Los Angeles Kings star Anze Kopitar tallied twice apiece as Team Lidstrom skated to an 11-10 triumph over Team Staal at Sunday's NHL All-Star Game in Raleigh, N.C.

Team Lidstrom rebounded from a 33-22 loss in the skills competition on Saturday with a much better effort the following day.

Boston Bruins veteran netminder Tim Thomas stopped 11 shots in the third period and was credited with the win for the third time in as many All-Star Games.

Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Sharp of Team Staal was named the All-Star Game's MVP after collecting a goal and two assists.

Nashville Predators defenseman Shea Weber notched four assists and was a plus-6, while Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews had a goal and two assists in a winning effort.

Carolina Hurricanes captain Eric Staal did his team proud, scoring twice - as did Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Kris Letang in a losing effort.

Sunday's contest also provided history midway through the third period.

With Colorado Avalanche star Matt Duchene (Team Lidstrom) skating in on a breakaway, Washington Capitals stud Alex Ovechkin (Team Staal) elected to toss his stick in his direction to serve as a distraction.

By NHL rules, a penalty shot is awarded.

Duchene was unable to convert the penalty shot as New York Rangers netminder Henrik Lundqvist was able to extend his left pad and deny the Avalanche star on the doorstep.

The game remained tied at 7-7.

Although Letang netted his second of the contest shortly thereafter, Briere, Toews and Tampa Bay Lightning star Martin St. Louis tallied in just under four minutes to give Team Lidstrom a 10-8 advantage.

Eriksson netted the eventual game-winner with 71 seconds remaining after shooting the puck in the open net.

Team Staal scored the first four goals in just 5:41 to seize control of the contest. Team Lidstrom responded with four of its own in 5:40 to level the game at 4-4 with 3:30 remaining in the first period.
