Backup running back Khalil Herbert rushed for 187 yards and starter Pooka Williams added 121 yards Friday as Kansas stunned Boston College 48-24 at Chestnut Hill, Mass.

Herbert, a senior, busted four gains of 20-plus yards to help the Jayhawks (2-1) snap a 48-game road losing streak against Power Five opponents. The skid dated to 2008, the last season Kansas reached a bowl game.

Making its first road trip under coach Les Miles, Kansas averaged 7.9 yards per play while generating 567 total yards.

Senior quarterback Carter Stanley passed for 238 yards and three touchdowns, going 20 of 27 after Kansas was limited a week earlier to one score (on its first possession) in a 12-7 home defeat to Coastal Carolina.

The Jayhawks needed fewer than 15 minutes to score 20 unanswered points bridging the two halves to go up 41-24 with 35 seconds left in the third quarter. They held the Eagles (2-1) scoreless in the second half.

Kansas linebacker Dru Prox recorded 10 tackles for the third straight game.

Bruising junior A.J. Dillon sailed past the 3,000-yard mark for his career while pacing Boston College with 151 yards rushing on 27 carries. Junior quarterback Anthony Brown struggled to find his passing touch, going 18 of 36 for 195 yards and one score.

Both teams exceeded 300 yards of total offense in the first half while trading scores. Kansas gained a 28-24 lead at the break after an 82-yard burst by Herbert keyed a 40-second scoring drive.

Wide receiver Andrew Parchment snagged the go-ahead score, his second touchdown of the half, with 5 seconds left.

After an early interception coming off two picks against Coastal Carolina, Stanley completed 12 straight attempts.

The Eagles appeared to be in control after taking two 10-point leads in the first quarter.

Dillon passed the 100-yard mark in rushing on Boston College's second play of the second quarter. He had 128 yards and one TD at the break. Brown passed for a 20-yard touchdown and caught a 12-yard score on a halfback pass to put Boston College up 24-21 just 45 seconds before halftime.
