Elijah Hughes and Buddy Boeheim combined for 59 points and both set career scoring marks as Syracuse broke a three-game losing streak with a 97-63 win over Georgia Tech on Saturday in Atlanta.

Hughes was 10 of 15 from the field and 6 of 11 on 3-pointers -- both career highs -- and has scored in double digits in each game. His previous career best was 28 points against Oklahoma State on Nov. 27. The junior also had five rebounds and four assists.

Boeheim scored 26 points, besting his career best of 22 set on Nov. 23 against Bucknell. The sophomore was 8 of 15 shooting and 6 of 13 on 3-pointers, matching his career high for both field goals and treys.

Syracuse (5-4, 1-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) also got 11 points and nine rebounds from Mark Dolezaj and 10 points from Joseph Girard III.

The Orange shot 50.9 percent from the floor and made a season-high 14 3-pointers. Syracuse had lost its past three games by double-digit margins.

Georgia Tech (4-3, 1-1 ACC) was led by sophomore Moses Wright with 17 points and nine rebounds, and junior Bubba Parham added 11 points. Guard Michael Devoe, who was averaging an ACC-best 23.8 points, scored only one point in the first half and finished with seven.

Hughes made the first four 3-point shots he took to spark a 12-0 run and give Syracuse an early 15-4 lead it never relinquished. The Orange opened the game by making 9 of 11 from the floor and led 23-7 with 13:53 left in the half.

Georgia Tech got as close as 13 points when Wright hit a jumper in the paint to cut the lead to 32-19 with 8:04 remaining, but the comeback was short-lived. Syracuse closed the half by outscoring Georgia Tech 16-9 and led 48-28 at halftime.

Georgia Tech again played without starting point guard Jose Alvarado. He has missed five games with an ankle injury.

Both teams are off until Dec. 14, when Syracuse plays at Georgetown and Georgia Tech plays at Kentucky.
