Jaiden Delaire finished with 21 points to lead short-handed Stanford to a 73-64 win over Arizona on Thursday in Tucson, Ariz.
The Cardinal (10-5, 6-3 Pac-12) swept the season series from the Wildcats (12-4, 6-4) for the first time since the 2007-08 season. Stanford snapped a 20-game head-to-head losing streak against Arizona last month in Santa Cruz, Calif.
Stanford played without starters Ziaire Williams (personal reasons) Bryce Wills (knee) and Daejon Davis (knee). They did not make the trip to Arizona.
The trio combine for 34.9 points and 14.1 rebounds a game. They also missed Stanford's 73-72 overtime win over UCLA on Saturday at Santa Cruz.
Oscar da Silva scored 17 points, Michael O'Connell had 14 and Spencer Jones 10 for Stanford. Jones led the Cardinal with six rebounds.
James Akinjo led Arizona with 17 points and six assists, but he also committed six turnovers. The Wildcats finished with 18 turnovers.
When da Silva, Stanford's catalyst, picked up his fourth foul and Arizona's Azuolas Tubelis made two foul shots with 4:47 left, Stanford led 60-59.
The Cardinal scored six straight points after he sat to take a seven-point lead with 3:05 left.
Stanford increased the gap to 67-59 on a free throw by O'Connell with 1:30 to go.
After Akinjo answered with a jumper, both teams turned the ball over.
da Silva missed two free throws with one minute remaining, and Arizona's Terrell Brown Jr. converted one of two from the line with 48.2 seconds left to cut the deficit to 67-62.
Delaire then made two free throws with 45 seconds remaining to put the game out of reach.
Arizona's Jemarl Baker Jr., who had 29 points when Stanford beat the Wildcats last month, is out for the season with a broken wrist.
Freshman Bennedict Mathurin, who did not play in the second half of the Wildcats' Monday win over Arizona State because of a sprained right ankle, was cleared to return. He finished with 10 points.
Arizona, which trailed 33-29 at halftime, did not take the lead in the second half until Mathurin made three free throws after getting fouled on a 3-point attempt with 10:05 left. The foul shots put the Wildcats ahead 48-46.
Mathurin had six points in a 9-0 run that gave the Wildcats 51-46 margin with 9:46 remaining.
Stanford responded with six unanswered points to retake a 52-51 lead on a da Silva layup with 8:23 left.
