Sahvir Wheeler and Tye Fagan scored 13 points apiece to lead the Georgia Bulldogs to a 71-61 victory over visiting Ole Miss in SEC play on Saturday in Athens, Ga.
Wheeler added five assists and four rebounds, while Fagan added four rebounds and Toumani Camara recorded 10 points and a game-high eight rebounds for the Bulldogs (10-6, 3-6 SEC).
The Bulldogs, who won for the third time in their past five games, shot 55.3 percent from the field (26-for-47), including 50 percent (9-for-18) from beyond the arc.
Ole Miss (8-8, 3-6) was led by Jarkel Joiner's 14 points and Devontae Shuler's 11. Robert Allen had 10 points and six rebounds for the Rebels, who lost for the fifth time in seven games.
After going 1-for-16 on 3-pointers against Arkansas, the Rebels again had a poor shooting night from distance, missing 11 of 13 against Georgia.
The Bulldogs started hot by connecting on nine of 13 field-goal attempts and held a 20-14 edge when Fagan drove and made a layup with just over 11 minutes left in the first half.
After missing 22 of its 26 3-pointers in Wednesday's blowout loss to the South Carolina Gamecocks, Georgia responded by draining six of nine long-range attempts and shooting 60 percent from the field overall in the opening 20 minutes to lead 37-34 at the half.
The Bulldogs increased the lead to eight early in the second, but Ole Miss hung around and trimmed the deficit to 56-53 with 9:08 remaining when Allen canned a jumper.
Georgia pushed the lead to 67-55 on P.J. Horne's corner 3-pointer with just over six minutes remaining.
The Rebels didn't get closer than seven points the rest of the way.
