Davion Mitchell scored a career-high 31 points as No. 2 Baylor cruised to a 107-59 victory over visiting Kansas State Wednesday night in Waco, Texas.

It marked the largest loss in K-State history, surpassing a 47-point loss at Oklahoma in 1934.

Baylor (15-0, 8-0 Big 12) tied its second-longest win streak to start a season with its 15th victory (17 in 2011-12).

Wednesday marked Baylor's annual game honoring the "Immortal Ten," the 10 members of the 1926-27 basketball team who died in a crash between a train and their team bus in January 1927. The current players wore jerseys sporting the names of the players who died.

Besides Mitchell's big night, MaCio Teague had 18 points, Jared Butler added 13 and Matthew Mayer had 10 points for Baylor. The Bears shot 17 of 28 (60.7 percent) from 3-point range.

The 107 points were the most ever given up by a Bruce Weber-coached K-State team, exceeding the 100 points Baylor scored in the first game between the two teams this season.

Kansas State (5-12, 1-8) has lost six straight games by double figures, and the Wildcats have lost seven straight overall, all Big 12 games. The Wildcats were led by Nijel Pack, who returned after missing four straight games due to COVID-19 protocols, with 11 points.

Kansas State scored the first four points of the second half to trim the lead to 54-30, but the Wildcats never got any closer.

Baylor left little doubt from the start that it would be in control. The Bears used an 18-0 run to open a 20-2 lead prior to the second media timeout. K-State's third field goal trimmed the lead to 38-7. When the Bears took a 41-7 lead, it matched the largest deficit K-State had faced all season, exceeding the 32-point hole the Wildcats suffered in the first matchup between the teams this season.

Baylor, which led 54-26 at the half, was carried by Butler's 13 and Teague's 11.

Kansas State's Antonio Grodon hit a three-quarter-court shot at the buzzer. They were led by Pack with nine points in the first half.
