Forward Robert Williams had 17 points and 10 rebounds as Texas A&M put another nail in the coffin of Alabama's already-dim NCAA Tournament hopes with a 56-53 victory on Saturday in College Station, Texas.

The Aggies (15-13, 7-9 SEC) seemingly took control with a 13-3 run in the second half that gave them a 40-27 lead with 11:56 to play.

The Crimson Tide (16-12, 9-7) battled back to within 53-50 on a 3-pointer by guard Ar'Mond Davis with 2:12 left and forced a missed 3-pointer on the other end but couldn't come away with the rebound.

Williams missed two free throws for the Aggies, but the Crimson Tide came up empty on offense and Williams made both of his next attempts at the line for a 55-50 lead with 33 seconds left.

Davis converted on a three-point play with 22 seconds to go and Texas A&M's J.C. Hampton could make just the first of his two free throw attempts.

Alabama's Braxton Key and Avery Johnson Jr. each missed 3-point attempts, but the Crimson Tide had one final opportunity, inbounding the ball with nine-tenths of a second to play. Key's 3-point attempt was blocked to end the game.

Tyler Davis added 13 points for the Aggies. Tonny Trocha-Morelos had eight rebounds and three blocked shots, including the key block on the final Tide possession.

Davis led Alabama with 11 points but made just 4 of 13 shots from the field.

Alabama trailed 21-19 at the half after shooting 23 percent from the field (7 of 30) and making just 1 of 8 3-point attempts. It didn't get much better after the break as the Tide finished 20 of 59 from the field and 6 of 23 from beyond the arc.

Texas A&M didn't shoot the ball well either from the field but enjoyed a big advantage at the free throw line. The Aggies went 26 of 37 from the line and Alabama was 7 of 9.
