Arkansas senior forward Moses Kingsley scored 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds, and the Razorbacks stayed hot with a 90-56 win over Sam Houston State on Thursday at Verizon Arena in Little Rock, Ark.

Kingsley, the preseason Southeastern Conference player of the year, was one of four Razorbacks in double figures. Junior guard Daryl Macon also had 17 points, junior guard Anton Beard added 16 points, and junior guard Jaylen Barford finished with 11 points for the Razorbacks (11-1), who won their eighth in a row ahead of SEC play.

The Razorbacks opened the second half with a 19-6 run to take command. Barford hit a 3-pointer that put Arkansas in front 58-35 with 15 minutes to play, and the Bearkats never mounted a challenge.

Senior guard Dakarai Henderson scored 13 points for the Bearkats, who had their five-game winning streak snapped. Henderson was the only Bearkat to reach double figures in points.

Sam Houston State (9-4) hit only 3 of 23 3-pointers and shot 30.7 percent from the floor overall.

Arkansas shot 50 percent from the floor and outscored the Bearkats 27-7 at the foul line.

Macon opened the game with a 3-pointer, and the Razorbacks extended their lead to 27-15 at the 10-minute mark on a 3-pointer by C.J. Jones. Arkansas took a 41-29 lead into halftime. Kingsley had 13 points to lead all scorers in the first half.

The Razorbacks now head into SEC play. They were picked to finish fifth in the conference in the preseason poll by the media. Arkansas opens conference play at home against Florida on Dec. 29.
