Christening renovated Exactech Arena with a blistering shooting display, Florida routed Little Rock 94-71 Wednesday night in a non-conference contest in Gainesville, Fla.
In upping their record to 9-3, the Gators raced to a 56-27 halftime lead by making 22 of 32 shots from the field, including 9 of 16 from the 3-point line. Florida pushed the advantage to 35 points with 13 minutes left and cruised to the finish line.
Five players reached double figures for the Gators, led by a game-high 21 points from forward Devin Robinson, tying a career high. KeVaughn Allen added 19, going 5 of 7 on 3-pointers, while Canyon Barry came off the bench to score 15 points.
Center Kevarrius Hayes hit all five of his shots from the field and finished with 12 points, and guard Kasey Hill had 11 points and 11 assists for his first career double-double.
Lis Shoshi scored 19 points for the Trojans (9-4), which have dropped two straight after winning six in a row. Off the bench, Andre Jones hit for 14 and Oliver Black managed 11 points.
Little Rock shot the ball well, converting 29 of 58 from the field, but simply couldn’t get Florida stopped at any point to make the game competitive past the second TV timeout in the first half.
The Gators' 16 3-pointers were their most in a game since 1999, and their 56 first-half points were the second most in the opening 20 minutes under second-year coach Mike White.
Florida drew assists on 20 of its 34 made field goals and outrebounded the Trojans 33-24. It led for all but 14 seconds in its first home game after 11 straight road or neutral-site games to start the season.
